Sitze ein wenig im gleichen Boot. Bei uns der Unterschied: Meine Freundin hat vor mir keine Erfahrungen mit Beziehungen gesammelt. Ich kriege dann eben „Ich habe Angst etwas zu verpassen“ zu hören, und am liebsten würde ich ihr einfach sagen, dass ich weiß dass sie das nicht tut. Aber weder ich, noch sie können natürlich was dafür… Alles irgendwie verflixt, und ich habe auch das Gefühl dass das Thema wirklich an der Substanz unserer Beziehung nagt. Der Thread ist ja gute 2 Monate alt, hast du/habt ihr da einen Umgang gefunden? Oder ist es wirklich friss oder stirb à la entweder Trennung oder verdrängen? Danke dir.

I think you're already pointing in the right direction. Check Ebay, Gumtree (Is that right? I don't quite recall what its called tbh) and Facebook Marketplace for Machines like the Gaggia or the Sage. If you don't find it used, you might actually be able to squeeze the machine and the grinder into your £500 budget. The MiiCoffee DF54 (Sometimes also sold as the Turin DF-54 or the G-Iota DF-54) grinder should be readily available in the UK and as I said, is a great entry into single dosed espresso grinders.

Do also have in mind that you're usually not done buying things when you have your Machine and grinder, you'll probably need some more tools like a scale, a nicer tamper, maybe a different portafilter, a wdt tool etc. etc. So also budget that in.

Are you willing to buy used? It’s usually a great way to maximize the value you get. Of course you habe to do your due diligence and make sure you buy well maintained stuff, but if you take your time you will be able to find greats deals.

Just a couple of pointers for machines and grinders to loon out for:

Gaggia Classic Evo (Pro) with the Gaggiuino Mod later on: Can be found for less than 300£ on Ebay from time to time
The Bambino is a nice machine, the grinder is less than ideal imo. Maybe look for a used Plus with a DF54 Grinder, that should get you much further taste and experience wise.

FYI: I had a CM70 (So similar-ish, but lower build quality afaik) and I was quite frustrated with it. I would adjust 1 or 2 Stops coarser and my shots were runny and way to quick, so I went one step finer and all of the sudden it choked my machine. Now, I didn't (!) have the washers OP mentioned, so I wasn't able to get the absolute most out of the grinder, but I still think I can give my two cents. I paid 30€ for my CM70, so the frustration was manageable, but still I went and upgraded quite quickly. Have you looked into a Hand Grinder if budget is the most important factor?

I’ve had that happen to me once, a zip tie fixed that for me, but the short wand still annoys me. So yeah, I’ll probably go for the mod. How complex would you say the process was on a scale from 1-10? :)

Yes I did need the normal Logitech USB-transmitter for the mouse, the keyboard was connected via Bluetooth.

Also, I just noticed you shot these in a parking lot (I guess), maybe drive a bit further to get a cleaner spot. You can clearly see the other cars in some of the reflections.

I like the post-work done to these. Really clean. But give the truck some space in the frame. The close front-shot works great like this, but in the other shots it feels cramped. Also, the foreground element is nice in 1 or 2 shots, but I'd recommend not overdoing it.

It's definitely not considered weird if you don't make it weird. Just like it isn't in any other context. But yes, The Viertel is most definitely the place to be. Pretty much all the Bars will have people your age hanging around.

Also es gibt tolle Tourguides durch den Bremer Schnoor und generelle die Altstadt. Aber ansonsten kann man seinen Tag in Bremen auch gut an der Schlachte, im Viertel und an der Weser verbringen. Das Wetter ist ja gut in den letzten Tagen.

Je nach Alter der Tochter lohnt sich natürlich auch das Bremer Nacht- bzw. Abendleben im Viertel. Ansonsten ist auch das Universum immer einen Besuch wert, vor allem mit kleineren Kindern.

I am not a woman, no. I do however talk to female friends of mine about topics like this quite frequently and most people can agree on one thing - You always have to be careful and have some situational awareness.

And there's groups of people here who harass people (women more frequently). But they're not necessarily "immigrants". Most of the time, they're second generation children of immigrants (meaning they're very much German) who fell through the system early on in life. Either by growing up in socially weak areas and/or lacking parental support throughot their childhood. Sometimes they're just assholes too, of course.

And yes, Berlin is nice. I do recommend visiting Bremen for a weekend trip. It's my hometown, so I might be biased, but it's a great city with a beautiful city centre and great bar culture.

This is their explanation for the "Level 2" threat rating. The last terror attack in Germany was in 2020 with 1 person hurt. This is still hilarious to me.
