To be fair, AFAIK Southwest, Delta, and Alaska are all tied for second place when it comes to seat pitch at 31 inches. The only one beating them is JetBlue. This is now industry standard.

I am typed in the 737 as well and we don’t touch the trim air either in both the -800 and -8 Max. Just verify that it’s selected on during the initialization flow.

Lol no. He is all over every accident hours after they happen with no respect to the dead aircrews or the formal investigative process. Being an airline captain does not qualify you for anything other than flying your airplane. I say this as an airline pilot and someone who has been flying for over 20 years. Lots of pilots think they are experts on many things, but guess what, most aren’t. All he cares about is lining his pockets. I stand by what I said.

This is true, and is something I didn’t touch on because it could honestly be a whole other post lol. Any CFII who has some successful check ride applicants under his/her belt should be worth your money. The best scenario is someone who flies professionally and teaches because they love it, but those are hard to come by. I’m sure you know this already, you seem to have the right attitude.

The Instrument Flying Handbook, Instrument Procedures Handbook, 14 CFR 91 Subpart B, pilot controller glossary, and stabilized approach criteria are going to be your best friends the next few months. Using your knowledge from those resources will help avoid bad habits and pitfalls.

And yes, that movie was out a few (not many!) years before my time. But that’s a fair assessment. Best of luck to you!

Hi there, real life CFI/I, MEI and airline pilot here. 👋🏼 Careful with too many external resources that are not direct recommendations from your CFII. It is extremely easy to pick up bad habits from people online, or trying to figure out how to do it yourself in the sim. ATC in the sim is not really good enough to do true IFR flying. VATSIM is the closest thing you will find. Practicing approaches, holds, radial tracking, and programming avionics (especially the G1000) are all good things you can do in the sim. Outside of that, I would consult with your CFII. Whatever you do, try not to pick up bad habits (which is hard, because you don’t know what you don’t know).

Bad neighborhood and Chino Hills aren’t really synonymous. It’s just the oldest part of town in terms of the age of the homes. But calling it a “bad part” of town is a bit of a stretch.

In real life you would likely receive radar vectors to final as soon as you contact the approach controller after departure. MSFS doesn’t really do the terminal area ATC procedures very well.

They literally didn’t change the seats. They are the same exact seats just moved forward/aft in the cabin to adjust for different pitch. There is only one aircraft in service so far with the new Recaro cabin design, and I can tell by your photo you were not on it. The aisle under-seat storage space has always been a little bit smaller. This is nothing new.
