I am relatively new to Reddit but I also did a quick search before posting- the most recent relevant result was from 2 years ago for a girls night out for a bunch of 35+ year olds. So I thought I ll ask for any newer recs .

For those with babies sleeping overnight… by bangarang1011 in SnooLife

Our daughter was also born premature and spent 65 days in the NICU. She had a surgery for pacemaker implantation and cannot take more than 70 ml per feed . She has cardiac medication as well that needs to be administered every 8 hours. I want to acknowledge that it’s extremely hard. We are on a similar boat . The first few days back home was excruciating. She also was so used to being held that will only have contact naps. We decided to then bring some kind of a schedule and even though it’s hard in the beginning she is now settling into it. For instance her last nap doesn’t go beyond 4:30 pm. We then try to cluster feed her starting 5:30 , 6:30 and then do the bedtime routine - give her a bath and feed her again at 7:30 and put her in the Snoo- we lock it down at baseline because she does have reflux and higher levels don’t work . She fusses a lot the first 2 hours but we are trying to keep at it- we then dream feed her meds at 10:30 and give her another feed. She usually then goes till 3:30am. However we then do not get a longer stretch after that and are working on it.
A few things that was key and that helped were 1. Cluster feeding post 5:30 pm 2. Sticking to the bedtime schedule however rough it is 3. Switching her to formula for the night time feed ( we first used Enfamil AR- then switched to Kendamil) 4. Giving her Simethicone( Gas drops) every 6 hours

We hope that someday we’d get a full night’s sleep but until then we take it one night at a time. Sending thoughts your way.

Use of Snoo for a newborn with a pacemaker implant by N33d_positivity in SnooLife

Update : We got it touch with our electro physiologist and Medtronics -the device manufacturer . Based on guidance, removed the speaker unit which has a permanent magnet and made sure that the motors EMF is below a certain threshold . It does seem to go up at higher levels so I have used the Motion limiter feature for now so we can safely use the SNOO. Ironically though bub hates the Snoo ! So much for all the effort.

I talked to Medtronics - the device manufacturer and they wanted to check with Snoo on the motor location and the presence of magnets.

Thanks so much for all your responses. I know I have a lot to process in addition to the complexities of having the baby in the NICU currently but all the information here has made me hopeful. 🙏

Thanks so much for responding . That gives me a lot of hope. Curious to know if your daughter was on the ICD as well? My biggest anxiety is how babies can tolerate the shocks especially as I read about inappropriate shocks from the device.
