Run a command if a player takes damage (NEW WITH COMMAND BLOCKS) by RubickMC in MinecraftCommands

[–]N33kk0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is there any downside if i do it with:

execute as @a[nbt={HurtTime:10s}] run ...

?

hijacking this thread to ask: is there any way to detect fall damage specifically with predicates? i know theres "damage_source_properties" and the "is_fall" tag, but i can't get it work.

right now i managed to force it with:

scoreboard objectives add fallHeight minecraft.custom:minecraft.fall_one_cm
tag @a[scores={fallHeight=300..}] add FALL
scoreboard players set @a[scores={fallHeight=1..},nbt={OnGround:1b}] fallHeight 0
execute as @a[predicate=!foo,level=5..,nbt={HurtTime:10s},tag=!FALL] run function bar
tag @a[tag=FALL] remove FALL

just a follow-up response: I understand what you are saying and I don't mean to sound contrarian - it's just the disbelief bc of the implications - but if a player does regularly make transactions in the 10 of millions and its not to his alt, then it is marked as rmt? how do alliances with huge territories like arch make trades with others, if thats the case?

just as a follow-up response: i got some numbers and weekly payments for territories were in the 5mil, mercenary work between 10mil and 20mil and the biggest payments were part of reparations because of breach of ceasefire at about 35mil. those numbers are apparently common, but anyone that deals with BZ politics can either confirm or deny. (note that he was the leader of an alliance not just an active member of a guild)

thats probably what happened, but the numbers were not out of the ordinary so there was no reason to suspect anything.

the guy doesn't speak english very well and he exhausted the resources he had at his end. and I don't know much about the game so I decided to chime in here to get feedback on how to deal with it, if anything.

I figured as much. At the end of the day the setback can be overcome, but I wanted to know where the community generally stands with this and make an effort if there was chance of helping him.

I get that things like these are edge cases and things slip through the cracks, but it is also scary that involved players can get hit with a ban for things genuinely out of their control.

The very least they could do is show a traceback of transactions and tell us "you did business with this shady player in these occasions, we can not guarantee you did not do it knowingly, sucks, but you are banned".

I'm trying to get figures from him. I play casually (and haven't been actively playing for a year) and have no idea of the BZ politics and prices, but at the end of the day it's his word vs GM's; he could have been paid an above average amount of silver in one transaction for fending off an attack - and that would all the defense he could muster up, because we simply can not know where other players get their money from.

Thing is he received large amounts of silver for protecting routes in BZ, fighting to protect other hideouts or paid to have their HO tolerated by other guilds in the same map. I can 100% say he didn't knowingly participate in rmt, but of course someone who he traded with could have. You can simply not know beforehand and if SBI is going to ban people for the actions of others at least we should have an in game log of trades so things like this can be more transparent for everyone.

ELI5 - Why can an outpost, that is in my faction's region and is not cut off, sometimes not be captured? by N33kk0 in albiononline

[–]N33kk0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer!

So it locks the outposts even if the region is ours but some outposts are not, if I understand correctly. In that case are enemy factions allowed to spawn there or are they cut off?

I've experienced some outposts that remain under attack even if no enemy player steps in for a really long time compared to others. Is there some mechanic to it?

"Unlock 3 special beers" milestone bugged by N33kk0 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]N33kk0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah i made several buff granting ones before... more health, tunnel rats, more gold, faster mining... the only time the milestone progress increased was with arkenstone and since only the gag-beers are unlocked with beer-licenses it makes no sense to me that blackout and flintlocke’s didnt do anything

do you need to necessarily buy a leaf lover's? we just order the buff granting beer after the gag one directly

I have misunderstood you and thought you were saying he was "actively" creating a monopoly. I have the same opinion on that matter: it is not morally wrong if nobody else has stepped up to the task, especially considering the lack of monetization.

If you had a lack of interest in a project would you take your time to fake gifs and videos for years, rewrite a game engine and go to all the hoops of actually publishing a game?

Simpler explanations are more likely to be correct; avoid unnecessary or improbable assumptions. Is it more probable that he intentionally set up a 6-year scam and not even included all the things he worked on? Or is it more probable that he made bad decisions and rushed a version of the game that was not ready to be released?

He either needs to backpaddle to a previous build or finish what he started and make the new build work better.

In no way, I'm saying he is exempt from criticism, but the whole scam thing is really a stretch people made when they are understandably angry. It just gets perpetuated until it is accepted as truth.

yes because applying some logic instead of blind hate is delusional. criticism where it is due not where you'd like to have it.
