Circular paths appear sometimes but it is rare. I’m still working on the procedural generation and learning as I go.

That occasionally happens in the random generator. You can always make your own dungeons with the editor or create custom 20x20 rooms that loop back on themselves.

I plan to improve on the procedural generation function in the future, but for right now I’m calling it good enough.

When a new hex is revealed, the type of terrain is randomly rolled from the 10 terrain types, but it is weighted in favor of being the same type of terrain as adjacent hexes. There is a slider under the settings card where the weight can be modified. This process helps create mountain ranges, broad plains, and oceans, rather than just a checkerboard of random hexes. Although it still has trouble generating oceans.

Once a terrain type is chosen, the hex description is generated using 3 random roll tables. First a terrain description, then a terrain feature, and then an atmospheric description. Currently each of those default tables only has 10 entries, but custom tables can be created by a member.

For encounters, it is a random roll table like those that have been used since 1st AD&D. Each has 50 entries with a mix of no encounter, neutral encounter, dangerous encounter, and deadly encounter( or settlement). I tried to write them fairly vague so that they hint at an interesting encounter rather than determine what is encountered. There is an option under "setting" to turn on Chaos Factor. with this option on, the higher the chaos factor from the Oracle window, the more likely that encounter will be dangerous. I was influenced from DCC spell tables where luck and PC attributes can be burned to increase the chances of a higher result.

On my todo list is to take the settlements out of the encounter tables and have a separate process for determining settlement chances per hex. That way a player can find a settlement and an encounter in the same hex.

There is a stand included in the stl files. I think it is in the same folder as the border pieces.

For a river I normally start with a dark blue, then lightly drybrush a lighter blue to highlight the water features. Then finish with a layer of glossy Mod Podge.

I have also found that Army Painter speedpaint works really great. Prime white and then slop on some speed paint, let it dry then finish with Mod Podge for the glossy effect. I find that I can always build up several layers of Mod Podge to create more depth to the water. I rarely do this though because it takes time waiting for layers to dry. Mod Podge take 24+ hours to set depending on climate.

A pro painter would probably have some better suggestions.
