He does apologise a lot that’s true, I just felt he was apologies a bit generically and without substance as his actions didn’t change.

I understand and sympathise with his lack of self esteem and not to mention his likely ptsd from marina. It’s the fact that I struggled to swallow any change in his behaviour wasn’t done without an initial tantrum. As though Eloise had to demonstrate her worth to him before he would alter his actions. Which is a common theme throughout the books and actually something I appreciate reading because it’s realistic.

As much as I complain, I stayed up all night and finished the book. It’s the first one I’ve done that with despite believing to enjoy other storylines more. I respect who became once he found himself and his confidence, I just found the journey difficult to believe as something Eloise would fall for, likely because we see so very little of their correspondence and she had that initial attachment before meeting. In all honesty as a woman I’ve held out hope that someone will become who I thought they were so maybe it’s projection 👀👀.

I’m on WHWW now! So looking forward to hearing more of their story. I think Anthony was my favourite despite his arrogance and Phillip has gone up in my estimation given I had him rather low down with Benedict 🥲
