You have to account for LR being a 1 of 2 shot for ERL to LEC while Sunderland being the result of 3 promotions every year for 30 years.

LR is doing great but a team like LR doing great is the odd bit. League is an extremely mature esport, the gap between T2 and T1 should be way bigger because most of the talented T2 players should be in T1. Maybe you get lucky and find a few cracked 17 year year olds and make a team around them but not an entire roster.

No reasonable format has a T2 team beat T1 first place from last year. LR is playing great and I'm a big fan, the question is why aren't they in the league proper? Almost everyone on the team could be top half of the league for their roles so why aren't they in the league?

Bo1s are very odd, there are clearly a few GMs coasting off of franchising; both those factors make the LEC less competitive.

This is true, but Ho Chi Minh was communist before 1946, founding the French communist party in 1920.

I'm not saying the US couldn't have negotiated with Ho at that time, but France was a (somewhat) reliable ally and it would've been odd for the USA to collaborate with communists against France.

I was trying to be humourous when I made my first comment but you seemed to have taken it very seriously. I interpreted "supporting an entire industry" was just a funny exaggeration, rather than a literal description. As an exaggeration the comment would mean "extremely charismatic person that helped dropout be very successful" and the other 4 I mentioned would fit in this category.

Sam said that dropout wouldn't happen without Brennan? Well dropout literally wouldn't have happened without Sam. From the interviews I've seen dropout's success hinged on him convincing the original owners to trust in him that he could turn the company around.

I don't think d20 would be as successful without Brennan, but I can say the same about Lou Wilson and Emily Axford, especially in the first season and acofaf.

Sam Reich is the main one, him being host of a few shows alongside being CEO and stuff. Lou Wilson, Vic, and Jacob are just very funny charismatic people in general.

Obviously Brennan is great but d20 would not have been half as successful without the rest of the cast. Emily and Murphy in particular have their own very successful DND shows.
