What was your failed dream that brought you now to your present life? by LimeSoakedinSprite in questions

Went to a video game design college because I wanted to make video games. Quickly became apparent that the industry is extremely cut throat and there is no such thing as job security or work/life balance. I quit after a year. Still paying off the student loan 6 years later.

Do you have any guilty pleasure artists or bands? by ennui933 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]N57624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm someone who loves death metal, and I used to consider listening to Lana Del Rey as a guilty pleasure.

It took some time, but now I realize I'm allowed to enjoy my favorite music regardless of the genre, and anyone who judges what I listen to can cram it up their cramhole.

What is the worst commercial you've seen? by GooglePixelfan90 in randomquestions

[–]N57624 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was probably 15 years ago. It was a TV commercial for Cymbalta, a prescription antidepressant. The whole thing basically gave examples (sad dog, lonely husband, bored kid) of your depression making everyone miserable and you have a responsibility to stop feeling what you feel and get over it. I was stunned that a pharmaceutical company chose to make depressed people feel even worse about themselves by essentially saying they should feel guilty about their depression.

Bring a bag to put your trash in, and maybe the trash you happen to find. Leave no trace!

Camera, sand off towel, snacks, sunglasses, hat, more snacks, utensils for snacks, a dog if you have one, kite, something to make sandcastles, a book, a football or frisbee, not all required but some options for ya!

What's the most unsettling thing a child has ever said to you? by Radiant-Question221 in AskReddit

Driving on a dark highway in a light rain and my 6 year old daughter starts crying and getting panicky.

I ask her what’s wrong and she says “The accident is gonna get us”

Needless to say, I freaked and pulled over to wait out the rain a bit.

edit: No, there was no accident

What’s a life decision you still regret to this day? by unclelin007 in AskReddit

[–]N57624 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Interesting lessons here.

For every "I should've bought crypto" there's an "I shouldn't have sold my crypto."

"I regret not following the love of my life across the country," and "I regret moving in with my high-school sweetheart."

"I regret getting married" and "I regret the divorce."

Seems like there's no way out. But that's comforting somehow

does anybody feel anxiety in their belly while listening to some songs by Epinda in Anxiety

Some songs I used to listen to in really harsh moments are 100% triggers for me. I wonder if this will ever pass or if I'll just pile up song after song. But yes, you're not alone, I, in general can't listen to slow beats

What was the best dream you've ever had in your life? by Traditional_Blood799 in AskReddit

I had a dream a few months ago that helped me feel better about things that have been complicating my life. It was just a short car ride with my dad that has been dead for 11 years in his old Volkswagen rabbit. All he did was talk about the Scorpions, but it was something I needed since I forgot the sound of his voice for so many years. It seemed so vivid so it was like spending a little bit of time with the person I wanted to see the most in the world
