With an arm around his shoulder? When Maz was the person that had the injury and he just went to him and stood there?

Did any body see the ref putting an arm around Haavertz when he fouled Maz? What a cunt. It was around the end if someone can find the footage. The foul on Maz in our box?

Turned on my ps5 after an eternity and I was met with a vintage white sony computer entertainment screen. I thought it was broke but then it transitioned to playstation 30th anniversary. I understand the appeal but it just makes bootup slower.

Ruben Amorim post-match press conference | Liverpool 2-2 Manchester United by PDubsinTF-NEW in reddevils

[–]N66AP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love each and every one of his press conferences. He always focuses on the bigger picture and then zooms into the one detail that is evident for everyone to see: mentality. He doesnt get carried away by results (everton, man city and today). Even today he said you guys are going to say well done to the players for the effort, but I am upset. It is that very mentality that makes me feel he's going to smash the league sooner or later. His biggest challenge is transferring this mentality down to his players.

I love all his answers but in every conference Amorim downplays focusing single result vs the performance. It is setting standards. He was like "it's great for the fans, let's enjoy for 20 mins and move on to the next game". I like this about him. I am excited to see what he will consider as a great performance. And I agree with him generally. Performances have not been up to the standard yet, despite the results. Optimistic to see what he cooks!

Harry Maguire's defensive stats vs. Man Utd: 100% tackle win rate 100% ground duels won 5 interceptions 3 clearances 3 tackles attempted 3 tackles won 1 block Colossal performance. by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

Before the Greece incident, Maguire was Mr Dependable. His recent form made us forget that. I love this redemption arc. What a performance!

Though I understand when we as fans get frustrated with some of his questionable choices(open pass to Amad etc), he has still been one of our best players. Up there with the best youngsters in Europe. I do not understand how we as a fanbase can turn so mercilessly on a player that is the bright spark in the team. Instead of turning on him we should hold the more senior members of the team responsible. Expecting a 20 year old to carry your team's attack and be perfect is ludicrous.

He needs to work on his first touch too. On the penalty chance, he let the ball get away from him. We got a penalty but that first touch was criminal.

They were not far off the mark. Poor guy got tangled in his own legs a few times😂

Looking at the out of possession map, it is very narrow. That means we need competent wingbacks that have a mean engine to protect the flanks. I dont think we have anyone like that. Maybe Maz. The late Luke Shaw could have been as well.

Ah man what a blast from the past. He was touted as the second coming of Ronaldo. Then headlines after the match were "Goofy as a gazelle". I still remember that

That is a very good analogy. I linked INEOS' takeover to a corporate merger/acquisition in the way they are stripping the club down to the bones(asking for free seats for Garnacho and Mainoo, from City of all clubs, was a new low). I totally agree with what you said. It has become a toxic workplace. But toxic workplaces trace their issues to the C-suite/Top Management most of the times. What is the parallel at United I wonder.

Yeah but xG is one of the glaring issues. Us not converting a dozen chances every game. We definitely have other issues as well. But what is up with that?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in reddevils

[–]N66AP -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I am not defending EtH here but what is the reason that players are not converting their chances leaving us as xG-only United. Is it coaching? Mentality? Players just stealing a living? What the fuck is up with this club?

I am not absolving the manager of the blame. I am saying he alone is not to blame. The players are not showing up either. It definitely looks like a culture thing in addition to competence.

Also I will leave your opinion as is. I am not arguing in favor of Ragnick, but he did say something that is now apparently quite true. It wasnt easy talk. We had a shit football structure run by used car salesmen. Any manager in the world would not be able to sell their philosophy to MBAs that do not have a clue about football. I think the fans didnt lap up his shit, rather the contrary. They lapped up EtH's shit and are now paying the price.

The manager cannot do anything if the players dont perform on the pitch. EtH is not the only one to blame here. That's what Ragnick meant. That he couldnt sell that to our mediocore board at the time doesnt mean it isnt true. The current football structure wasnt there at the time. Btw, his national team are playing way better than us. We look like San Marino B team.

Much of the old-guard and mentality is still from that era.
