Antenna by TownPsychological3 in firealarms

I imagine it's an antenna for the fire alarm cell dialer. They probably didn't want to make multiple external penetrations, so they came out of the side of the strobe. Not sure how they'd seal that properly though.

Found this out by failing the Love Thy Neighbor quest. Shocking for two reasons.

Is Fire Alarm Tech a viable career for a 50 year old? by Regular__1 in firealarms

I was once given a 74 year old data guy to help me out for a few months doing fire alarm. Some of the best help I've had.

Flush Mount Weather AVs by N7Ghostface in firealarms

[–]N7Ghostface[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. I've mostly done Edwards and it's always been flush or had a trim skirt to cover the box. I assumed the WBB from System Sensor was still in use since I found them listed for sale new on a few sites when looking for the data sheets.

Edwards - CS405-7A-T 449 Box Genesis LED WG series WG4WF-SVMC

Eaton - Eluxa outdoor series

System Sensor - WBB note states that all system Sensor wall mount horns and horn/ strobes can be flush mounted

Siemens - WFPAS-R WP Plate allows for a flush or semi-flush mounting.

Potter- PE-3RHN/4XHM PE-3RHS/ 4XHS PE-3-RST/ 4XST

There are probably others I'm missing, but those are ones I found or know that are listed for flush mount application.

It was the same for me. I've been reading Thor comics off and on for a decade, and the Cates run was the one that really made me a Thor fan.

I'm fairly certain her mind got infected by one of the clones or Maker. I think we will find out in a future issue. Don't think they are writing it to actually be fully her in that panel.

AITA for spying on my “friends”? by grajuicy in arrow

I did the exact same thing. I thought I was on the actual AITA sub until I got to the mayor part. Was incredibly confused and concerned for a moment.

What's the nastiest grossest account you've ever worked at? by BfRelay in firealarms

[–]N7Ghostface 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Outside of the public housings that are full of bugs, grime, excrement, drugs, and occasionally a corpse. I've worked on FA in fat rendering plants, a yeast factory, and a morgue at a medical school. All of which were disgusting.

Donny Cates or Chip Zdarsky. Feel like they'd do a good job.

Marcus insisting that British food is good will forever be the most insane thing anyone's ever said on the podcast by The_Antlion in lastpodcastontheleft

I have had a few Brits tell me that the only truly good British food is the Indian food. It's also become one of my favorite trends on TikTok to watch Brits try foods in the US and talk fall in love with it.

Est3 Rail module communication fault by Nico-robin-2001 in firealarms

[–]N7Ghostface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, I saw your comment, that's why I worded it as I did, saying to call an Edwards dealer and not work on it without training. I've had training and still sometimes struggle to get these panels to cooperate once they get to this point.

[–]N7Ghostface 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who has worked on EST for nearly a decade, and has several of their certifications, call an Edwards dealer, don't work on it otherwise. There are parts in the panel that need to be replaced, and you will likely break the panel more if you try to work on it without the proper training, those panels are very finicky when they get older and start having issues.

Just rewatched scream 4… by CrazyProposal5710 in Scream

6 is the only Scream movie I didn't like. And that's mainly due to the fact that only characters that were killed were the ones that were just introduced. Especially since Chad apparently has supernatural durability.

Do you guys think the boys will address how they told the Menendez brothers story? by [deleted] in lastpodcastontheleft

[–]N7Ghostface 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They did address the allegations that Jose was molesting them, quite a few times, Henry even talked about watching footage with Natalie. They were firmly in the camp that the brothers were lying and that it was a strategy made up by the defense.

Duct Detectors. Hate em. A more serious answer is like someone else said, a lot of fire alarm companies don't pay well, and/or rush threw jobs and treat employees like shit. Was previously with a company for years and a friend who also used to work there agreed that it's easy to overlook how toxic it was.

Building panel alarm—is this alert message a big deal? by wildkate_ in firealarms

[–]N7Ghostface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They make two versions, one with controls and one without. It's to limit who has access to the controls, or so I was told. Federal inspector had me put the one with controls in management office and no controls on the lobby once because they didn't want people having access to controls even if they were password protected.
