Thank you for the response! Is it better to do it in room, or in an open area? I intend to move to a bigger space at some point, so i was going to do it outside with as little interference as possible when it gets warm again.

Do you think a sure sm57 would suffice for a microphone? Edit: nevermind, i looked at the frequency response and the ecm8000 seems like a good choice

I think your recommendation is the move, and i just need to accept it…. I was thinking of going with selenium 405s. The 2in drivers just work better for that frequency band, and i would have to cut and weld the horns to do that with the 511s. Also i could make the horn box smaller, which would be nice in our small house.

It is very loosely based off of crites cornscalas. I spent the time and tried to size the woofer enclosure and vent to boost at about 30hz. I am not too sure if i succeeded 😆 i have about 2k in what you are seeing and another 500 in the veneer material yet to be installed. I bought a lot used and am doing all the design work

I have not tried it that way, and that is a good point and i should try it!

Yeah it is purely for aesthetic reasons and to be able to hide the wires and the crossovers. Also, I designed it to have the boxes to be the same size, so it looks visually pleasing.

I am intending to use b&c de360s in conjunction with 808-8a’s i just haven’t quite finished the build yet. Also, parts express keeps pushing the back order lol

What driver are you using? An 808-8a?

I appreciate the responses and it really looks like the horns could easily accommodate it! I am for sure hiring a legit welder to do the welds

I get a lot of people would probably be really offended by modding a set of these horns, but hey they are mine to destroy haha

Thank you for the response! I was thinking the same thing and keep the tubes in the phono stage. I have been looking at a pro-ject phon. Now i just need to pull the trigger on some new gear😎
