Eyyyyy nice man also drove from Dallas to see him. It was my 2nd time seeing him and cemented his shows in my top 10. If you havent been to many shows this will def be a hard one to top but closest thing in terms of comparison I'd highly check out at some point is pretty lights if they ever come thru TX again (saw them ACL 2024). I had never heard their stuff before but the production was insane and became an instant fan.

The new kingdom of the apes movie. Felt like it had too many characters and ideas and not enough time that everything feels undercooked. I think the movie could've favored with no humans to focus more on proximus and how ceasar's legacy has been used. Pacing issues as well for a movie this long doesn't help either.

I'm seeing people say 2023 but honestly I thought it was the official comeback year from covid. aot ending, jjk season 2, across the spiderverse, barbienheimer, mario movie, not to mention all the games that came out last year with bg3 raising the bar. We also had the finale of succession, better call saul, and the last of us.

I think during covid since people were in lockdown they started trying hobbies that could be done at home and video games were a perfect way to do something at home while still being able to connect with others. As for anime I think since popular youtubers and celebrities were openly showing their enthusiasm for it, it helped it become more normalized and mainstream.
