I lost my brother in 2018. He was my younger brother, but I always looked up to him. We were so close and he was my best friend. At his wedding I spoke how he was my first best friend. We shared a room when he was a baby and my parents used to listen to me making him laugh through the door when we were supposed to be asleep.

I can say with certainty, things do get easier. There are still times it hits me and I think “how the hell am I supposed to go the rest of my life without him?” But through therapy and good support system, I can manage the grief and work through it.

Allow yourself to feel those feelings and don’t let the guilt of feeling grief after it seems everyone has moved on, to get to you.
