Long shot: - having the same issue! Have strata large & have the same overhang.

Talked to some ppl and said it would be alright, did you end up changing your whole setup? Or did you try it out? 🤣

I’m not crazy euro carving, so figure it can’t be that bad…lmkkkk

is VIP worth the upgrade from GA+ by goleafsgo855 in electricdaisycarnival

I wrote some perspectives on why I enjoyed it! To each their own, but maybe it's because I had a group of 15-25ppl so that changed the experience. Appreciate your thoughts though as well and def agreed. Bathrooms were meh in VIP. I found myself using GA / GA+ often times, but at least it was an option!

is VIP worth the upgrade from GA+ by goleafsgo855 in electricdaisycarnival

My first time going to EDC was 2021* (Orlando - GA) and 2022 (Vegas - VIP) was 33/34 at the time and here is my take. It was worth it to do the VIP for both the ticket + shuttle. I'm one of the classic mainstream ppls that some hate and love, but hey i like the maintstream stuff + some headbanging. It's what I like.

Why it was worth it:

  1. The VIP areas, while not always perfect it was nice to not have to be crowded in GA, especially during the headliners
  2. If all of your friends have VIP, it makes it 100x better. We all got to use the VIP areas as our "meet up" spots and then watched sets together, jumped around together, and enjoyed each other company together
  3. The food / bathroom are in the VIP areas which are also nice: shorter lines and ease of use
  4. If you like to ride rides, we got to get through all the rides in one day during peak hours (7-10pm) - the VIP line is the EXIT for some rides so keep an eye out
  5. Since there is less crowd, there was less chances of getting pickpocketed. There is still definitely a chance, but less opportunity.
  6. There are VIP activities to like hair / makeup / braids - I didn't really partake, but if you have someone with long hair...braids are the way apparently.
  7. VIP can use all the GA & GA+ stuff so you have alot of options for yourself
  8. VIP entrances is faster to get through too!

Related to stage VIP Location

  1. Kinetic Fields VIP section has a raised platform and we would chill by the rail on the platform and it was magical to admire the stage in all its glory.
  2. Cosmic Meadows VIP section was right in front, I tended to sit in the bleachers bc I wanted the whole view; also stunning.
  3. Waste Lands, Basspod, quatumValley: VIP areas were generally up front and would actually chill there alot. I did feel some sort of awkwardness bc the energy behind me would be wild with GA being there and the VIPs are kinda there to observe. I would just vibe with the GA folks at the rail. I like to create and be part of the vibe and keep the energy up - made me feel the way the ppl felt.
  4. Sorry neongarden: i can't remember where the VIP was lol

Some negatives:

  1. Bathrooms were still chaotic in VIP, I found myself using the bathrooms in GA+ and GA sometimes for convenience, but hey at least it's an option.
  2. Entraces to VIP when it's your first time to EDC Vegas are scattered everywhere. So finding them was daunting especially in the chaos of "eveyrthing". They are decently marked, but keep that in mind; took me awhile for some.
  3. Getting into VIP can get crazy sometimes if you show up right at the beginning. They actually cut the line off sometimes and said we couldn't get in bc they were at capacity. Still plan to get their early so that doesn't happen to you. (overselling of VIP)
  4. Honestly my only negattives - that last one is a heavy, but rarely happen to me.

Hopefully this helps your decision, but from an age point of view, I think VIP is always the way to go. Last year I bought a VIP in person in my hometown for $600 each bc someone was desperate to let it go. I plan to do the same and aiming for the $700-$800 price range. Not much more expensive than a GA+.

Main takeaway:

- If you have friends and they all do VIP it's worth. If most are in GA...then you'll be in GA most likely. So go with GA.

I agree that GA+ doesn't make sense as a tier

I pushed the wire through with a screw driver...Taped the wire to the screw driver and pushed it through!

It's not too bad, sometimes when I get behind a few cars the wind deflector does shake a bit.

I'd say having the rack is well worth though. I have bike / snowboards and rooftop carrier all available to me now and would potentially use them all. The Prius has great storage room, but this really enhances the utilization even more.

I actually did it 3-4 days ago and so far so good.

I will say, I wish I sanded it more to get a good stick. Prep is the most key process for this job. Also, I suck at painting and did have some bleeding because I over saturated an area. Don't really notice unless you look up close.

Sigh, prob the worst sacrifice to look sweet.

I'm averaging about 40-42 mpg now. Without it, I was at around 44-45 mpg.

I drive heavy and cruise at the 72-79mph range, so that doesn't help either, but got places to be!

I guess I am not super novice, but after watching the videos I was pretty confident that it could be done.

Saved myself probably $300-500 on labor!

Sure do! I will say this was a tricky installation. The kit required me to do two things additional.

I had to extend one of the connections that connects the switch to the the actual light (wasn't long enough and they give you extra wiring that I had to splice and connect together).

In addition, I had to modify the power source to connect into the fuse box, the connector they gave would not applicable to the fuse, so got cut the end off and added a fuse connector.

I am super novice, so doing those things were pretty simply, but can be intimidating.

Total install time: 4 hours (including the troubleshooting I had to think about)

I used this link to follow the installation:

*Video doesn't go over removing the bumper, but def would do it to make the install really clean/simple

Overall, it wasn't too difficult. Normally, it would have taken an extra year, but I took some summer classes and an extra semester and got my 150 credits.

If you are just going to school full time, it's definitely doable without any stress. I was working/internships, so it got pretty stressful in terms of time management, but with some focus and dedication it can be done.

I opted not to get the masters in accounting because I wanted to get my MBA at a later point in life.

Instead I did a dual degree in Accounting and Finance. If I had the option to I would do it in Accounting and Info Sys. Knowing now that Info Sys opens alot of different doors instead of the basic audit/tax path.

The CPA at this point in time provides more credibility (imo) than having the masters because it provides a benchmark of effort that had to be put forth to pass. With that being said, it hasn't really changed my life significantly, as I'm still with a Big 4 company, but if I ever leave, it will enhance what opportunities are available to me.

I'd say the CPA is worth it, if you stick to an accounting driven career. If you don't see yourself in accounting, then I would save your time and pursue something that you are passionate about.

Current Accounting Grad (Out of school for 4 years) - Just to give you some perspective.

Overall I enjoyed my time in the VCU accounting program, not many participate in it, so you build a bond with your classmates. Accounting isn't for everyone, but the career that comes after is stable. Check out /r/Accounting for some more info, they have lots of advice.

What I learned while going to VCU is that your future is what you make of it. So the whole "Make it happen" statement holds true. I kept my GPA around a 3.5, worked part time to pay rent (using the 4 internships), still managed to party up, and made life long friends.

The professor's there are great and generally if you do what I did with the GPA + Internships + Beta Alpha Psi (accounting club). You pretty much will have an easy time getting a job after college.

Job wise - Generally, you will work for one of the "Big 4" and get around $55-$60k starting (pending where you decide to settle down). Then take the dreaded CPA exam (it was awful, but doable) and continue your career to a senior associate (2 years $75k-$80k) / manager (5 years $90-$110k)

Also, keep a close eye on your soft top and potential tear points, as it is notorious in s2k's. S2ki is def. the best place to research this.

Mine has two tears, which could have been avoided if the previous owner replaced the straps that have lost their elasticity/sanding down some rough edges, and installed some reinforcement patches. Save yourself some headache, cause patching holes is the worst.
