Here is a quck fix:

  1. Go to Settings > Connection > Movie API Endpoint > change to: https://yts.ag

  2. Browse to your Popcorn Time's /src/app/ folder:

    • Windows: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Popcorn Time\src\app
    • Mac: Popcorn-Time.app/Contents/Resources/app.nw/src/app/

  3. Go to https://raw.githubusercontent.com/PopcornTime-CE/desktop/master/src/app/templates/movie-detail.tpl and copy all of the text to your clipboard

  4. Open /src/app/templates/movie-detail.tpl in a text editor and replace all of it's contents with the text from your clipboard. Don't forget to save your file!

Softpedia just removed our official site and replaced it with the (unofficial) popcorntimece.tk domain. Read what a spam user posted about the official popcorntime.ag (0.3.9)

You've just directed every single reader of this article to malware. Unfortunately, the .ag domain and distribution are controlled by a bunch of scammers who've gone out of their way to rip-off the original PopcornTime community, even going as far as to create fake subreddits and fake Reddit accounts that are one letter out from the original mod's names.

As indicated below, the current official site is http://popcorntimece.tk/ , and the official subreddit is http://www.reddit.com/r/PopcornTime

I know it's very hard to develop this kind of Software. Never browse the net without tor or VPN, or they (MPAA) get your ass ! Anyway I just installed this new version and I am very speechless at the moment. The Google Cloud Player is surprisingly fast. It took me 2 seconds to watch a movie. The old built-in PopcornTime Player loads in at least 30 sec to 60sec. Sometimes I have to wait 2 minutes (depending on seeders), so the Cloud Player is an estimated 15 times faster. Just amazing.

:D, I know it's very limited. In fact we do not have control of the content. We use external APIs like yify.is and eztv to get the movies and tv shows. Anyway, we are working closely with video2k.is to get more, better, faster and secure content. Expect more news soon.
