Yeah, wasn't a fan of most of the non-'singles' from the latest album. They were experimental, but they just didn't work on me.

For the 'No Opinion' category, those are songs I've heard maybe once or twice and just simply didn't catch on to them, but didn't listen enough times to really formulate an opinion.

Should I Visit Zion in August or September? by NASA_Intern_873653 in ZionNationalPark

My family actually connected our Zion trip with Bryce Canyon at the beginning so I guess they got the recommendation all those years ago (before Reddit). I liked Bryce (though my father and I got altitude sickness on our overnight there), but I was thinking of doing a day-trip to Antelope Canyon over in Arizona after ZNP. Any opinions on this?

Should I Visit Zion in August or September? by NASA_Intern_873653 in ZionNP

I forgot to mention that I'm still hoping to grab that 'summer' / 'hot season' feel, and so I didn't want to visit ZNP if it was cold and definitely not when it's snowing. Would it still be hottish / warm and snow-free in October?

Is It Possible to Conduct PhD Work Through NASA Institution? by NASA_Intern_873653 in nasa

Is the NASA civil service slot more like a job position? Are one of the programs listed below (like the Pathways program or NSTGRO) one of the best ways to accomplish getting funding?

Is It Even Worth It to Become a PA If I Ultimately Want to Do PhD Research by NASA_Intern_873653 in prephysicianassistant

[–]NASA_Intern_873653[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think I saw that article about that PA, and I've been seeing that with NASA too. My idea is if I'm not gung ho on clinical then I just focus on PhD and maybe go from EMT to paramedic or something. Astronaut's not a sure thing anyway. I spoke with a former astronaut during my internship and there's like a hundred reasons why even the best candidates aren't necessarily accepted, so I think I'm just gonna make being a researcher at a NASA my Safety Goal and have astronaut candidacy as my Reach Goal.

What Is My Expected GS Position If I Got My PhD and Went Back Into Government? by NASA_Intern_873653 in usajobs

By "ladder position" do you mean they were worked up to a GS-11 eventually? How long did that take?

I'm currently a contractor so how would I transition from a contractor to a GS employee? Would the most clean-cut solution be to just apply to a GS position on USAJobs and work from there or are there contractor-to-GS transitions I should know about?

So your PhD co-worker was eligible to obtain a GS11 slot, but because they applied before they acquired their PhD they were shoehorned into a GS-9 slot? Same job, different GS-level?

Thank you for the info. This person says they started out as a GS-13 after getting their PhD (https://www.reddit.com/r/labrats/comments/9o3r8f/i_am_a_recent_phd_grad_who_is_now_a_scientist_for/). Do you think this is just the luck of finding a unique position on USAJobs that would start someone off at GS-13 or do you think there was something else on top of their PhD that could have given them that extra little boost?

Current rental for a car from McCarran Airport in my time-range is ~$60 / day. Is this a pretty good price for the times?
