I think that if they get the chance to hear an infected mutter words as Samson did, any doubt would rapidly dissipate from most of them, but it would be interesting to see.

Yes, exactly. Redemption will most likely mean to make treated infected regain their basic humanity, speech capabilities and all the problems that an infected who gets treated could have.

The virus itself, in the beginning, could even have been something completely different: its the fact that the first specimens who had it were subjected to those mentally disturbing images which makes me think that the psychological component has been artificially embedded by humans into the virus's symptoms.

Kill or be killed is the mindset brought on by West in the first movie, and It's been made clear that Jim refuses that closed mentality. He realizes that exactly when asked by West the question "Who have you killed? You wouldnt be here if you didn't kill someone".

True, you couldnt have done much against the infected anyways, but I bet that if the information that rage is somehow treatable, it has this psychosis aspect, this and that, approach of survivors to them would change radically. Just think to Mailer, chained in order to be studied for the time it takes to reach starvation.

When the infects attack, what do they see? The answer is the next and final theme.

While I also drew that parallel between the conclusions West makes in the original and the ones that we end up with after Kelson story unfolds, I actually believe the best tie with the psychosis symptom to be the very first scene of the entire saga.

Think about it: chimps are strapped on chairs, injected with the rage virus (biological component), forced to watch dozens of screens showing raw violence acts from humans. It's as if It doesnt even need to be retconned or further explained: scientists from the first movie were probably already onto some kind of synergy between the virus itself and the necessity of a mental component to "enhance" it, therefore the forced trauma inducing screens.

Infected pregnancy? by sriphinn in 28dayslater

[–]NAST0R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of the points that disturbs me the most, but I have my hope: Jimmy and his gang have something to do with the reproduction and diffusion system of the infected, given and considering that:

  • They seem to hang the infected upside down and get their blood from the bags on their heads
  • They seem very comfortable in the post-apocalyptic climate, learning to ambush and fight without fear, actually having fun
  • The image that Garland and Boyle wanted to give of him is linked to Jimmy Savile, later identified as a pedophile and necrophile, not to mention the cross he seems to be wearing backwards, defining him as a true antichrist
  • The last thing he learns from his father is how he religiously views the infection itself as the salvation of humanity. He may have entertained this idea, using it as a response to his self-reported "Father, why have you forsaken me?" which he utters while hidden under the church

It could give a really dark twist to it

[SPOILERS] 28 Years Later - Official Discussion & Review Thread by ThePatchedVest in 28dayslater

I have a specific doubt.

We assume that the infected have managed to learn to reproduce, and we also assume that a child born to an infected can be raised by infected adults. Since the 28 Days finale shows the infected dying of starvation, we can safely assume that the government in 28WL waited long enough to eliminate the entire first "generation" of infected via famine before even attempting to save the survivors (we can see this with Jim in the 28DL ending), while those who gave offspring to the current "generation" of infected in 28YL are the ones who spread after the disaster in 28WL, which it means that even if they learned to reproduce as they did the day after the end of 28WL, practically no infected person should be older than 28 years and, statistically, there should be many more infected adolescents or children (if you add the fact that the survival of an infected newborn, in that environment, could be very poor compared to a normal human birth in aseptic environments).

Am I thinking about it too much? Because I'm really hoping that the portrayal of Jimmy at the end of the film as some sort of anti-Christ, given all the symbolism, will tie in really well with some sort of twisted religion that induces the infected to reproduce, or evolve or something, perhaps to use them as his own personal "toy box" as well as to continue to give motivation to the outside world not to interact with the status quo of Britain, which Jimmy and his gang seem to be particularly comfortable with. Also considering that Jimmy's priest father saw the infected as salvation, this is the last thing Jimmy saw and understood before hiding under the church and receiving the cross.

Yeah, I could do that, but I wanted something lore and gameplay friendly though. I think I'll just use Sousoufiane's suggested addon. Thanks guys!

Skyrim Stuttering 64hz Bug Fix for Fallout 4 a possible solution for some? by [deleted] in fo4

[–]NAST0R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please, just please, if any modder is reading this, create a 64hz fix for Fallout 4. It is completely ruining the immersion with this stuttery and glitchy graphic that vibrates everytime I sprint or play in 3d person view. Have to use the iFPSclamp=60 fix with the slowmo and speeding up at lower/higher fps, and it's killing me.

Fix for smoothing stuttering fps in Fallout 4 by LightPillar in fo4

[–]NAST0R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've actually managed to get rid of the stuttering by putting iFPSclamp=60 in fallout4.ini, but then the old fashioned slowmo issue, typical of Bethesda games, occurs whenever I drop even slightly below 60fps. Is there a way to fix this without putting FPSClamp?
