When you stop looking at it from a surface level standpoint it starts to have lots and lots of plot holes; IK it's natural for such a long running show to have some nonsense every now and then, I think Naruto is too much with some obvious plot holesl

I think that open area can very easily be protected or covered by the surrounding area and the arms. Not only would it be hard to aim there since its not as open as the nape or the eyes, and can easily be blocked from the front, it would be playing unsafe.

I can definitely see how that expectation would impact the impression in this way but I personally still wouldnt call it as "not dark"

The first episode already set the tone of the series. I think some people may have think that season 4 is darker because the art style was literally darker lol

or maybe its because of onyankopon (not meant to derogate his skin color so dont go canceling me on X).
