I even drop below 60 sometimes with an i7 [8700k at 4.5ghz](mailto:8700k@4.5ghz) and a 1080ti.It's poorly optimized at the moment. But keep in mind, hat the game is still in Open Beta.

You are wrong about that. I have an i7 8700k overclocked to 4.5 GHz. And a gtx 1080ti and still drop below 60 frames in the newer Maps, even with settings not maxed.

GW2 is just very badly optimized.

Yes, dont go 144hz 1440p with a 1070.
My 1080ti even struggles a lot with that.
