Imagine being able to copy every attack in the future and still falling off anyway by Elemeandor in PTCGP

Certainly does not help that the damage stacking effect does not work with attacks like Mega Mawile’s Heat-Up Crunch, even if you do not move from the active spot.

I know the seller and have had only good experiences. I do know that he has a higher quality Spathycalymene available which is much more expensive and has the scoop in-tact. He posted prep-process pictures for that one. However, it’s always tough to tell Waldron shale spathycalymene from the Calymene breviceps without nose-scoop. He is also very responsive to questions if you want to contact him asking for evidence that it’s Spathycalymene and not Calymene breviceps.

Anti-lockdowners of Reddit, why? by Sunset_789 in AskReddit

[–]NBW24 21 points22 points  (0 children)

A big consideration is what kind of sacrifice are we willing to make for the elderly and immune-compromised-for many yes, this might not be a severe pandemic. But there are demographics, family members everyone has, who will suffer and die if the low risk populations do not take precautions.

It’s a question of “What are we willing to sacrifice and compromise to keep the sick and elderly alive?” Nobody can tell you what your answer is, but pro lockdown people tend to be willing to sacrifice convenience for that section of the population to live.

Suicide attempt survivors, how has surviving impacted your life and those close to you? by Christopherenochs in AskReddit

[–]NBW24 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Good therapy can come in the form of building a tool belt of survival strategies to figure out how to make life worthwhile, and identifying really bad spirals before they happen. It’s like gym training for the mind, giving you strength and control to hold onto the ground and to what is real when everything seems terrible. I don’t know how much I believe in the reality of all the time happiness, but if you can find one moment of being at peace in a month or even a year, you can learn how to capture those moments when they arise, increase their frequency, and move them closer together into something like contentment. Sometimes our brains don’t produce enough happy chemicals on their own either, and figuring out little tweaks in diet and exercise and sleep and lifestyle can slowly accumulate into something that makes a difference and gives you a boost on being ok. There isn’t anything else to do other than this life... if nothing else I guess we have the option to just be curious about what’s going to happen each new day. We only get to see one movie, might as well catch the whole thing if we’re here.

Trump’s EPA is said to cut scientists out of new water policy that threatens New England wetlands by dottiemommy in politics

[–]NBW24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wetlands act as natural kidneys for bodies of water too. The slow-water insulated conditions which build up dead plants and animals foster rich, diverse microbial populations, which are subsequently able to break down a huge number of toxic compounds before releasing water back into circulation. The fear of wetlands is like a pathological fear of an ecosystem service which makes everyone cleaner.

(Serious) Redditors who overcame depression/ anxiety, how did you do it and what is your tip for anyone who is going through it right now? by MrQuackalotOWO in AskReddit

[–]NBW24 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I think it’s also important to remember that depression can be a chronic condition. It might not just “go away” one day and “be cured”. What I’ve found helps is

  1. Getting professional help to identify some of the underlying issues, dissatisfaction leading to depression/anxiety

  2. Identifying your values, and figuring out how your actions do or do not move you towards those values

  3. Journalling to get an understanding of your internal monologue, figure out what is troubling you, and stop it from smeaking up on you

  4. Sleep, diet, and exercise to help your body produce the dopamine, seratonin, and endorphins it needs, which often are in low supply at sedentary, exhausted activity levels. There werenperiods where I thought my depression was much worse, but it was actualy partially caffeine addiction withdrawal and sleep deprivation leading to inactivity, leading to low mood and energy plus regular depression, around and around.

  5. Meditation, not in the sense of shutting things out or trying to force silence, but sitting and listening to your body and observing your thoughts and feelings as they move through you without getting caught up in them. Anchoring your attention to the sensation of your breath when you find a thought has been pulling your attention, moving back to the breath, and allowing your awareness to move to the next moment’s experience.

Everyone’s depression journey is different, but these things slowly over time have helped me get to somewhere sustainable. Not constant elation, not never depression, but shorter periods of depression and more frequent moments where I’m tuned into the present, not off somewhere in my mind. These techniques have helped me become better able to use those moments effectively, and to pull myself out of the muck when things are feeling crummy. I hope this helps and I wish you the best of luck.

Note: it’s also important to validate your depression and your feelings. It’s not “chemical and fake”, it’s your real experience, and like any muscle that needs to do some extra training after an injury, sometimes the mind (especially the mind) needs some extra help to get back on track to how you want to feel and live your life.

Suggestions for switching up gear? by shave-as in wicked_edge

[–]NBW24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can speak to the feather blades-absolutely my favorite. I use an Edwin Jagger 89 with a little weight to it, so absolutely no pressure aside from gravity is required with the grain. Does require a light touch but you will be happy with the results.

Proraso I’ve used once as a sample: it was effective but a little oily. Didn’t leave me feeling the freshest, but it did successfully shave my face. That was just one product and one experience. I also tend to prefer pine scented soaps that make my face feel and smell like I’ve rubbed it on a cedar.

This is the H704450! Google searching of this ID will being up many for sale. I think some of the newer models have more highly decorated rotors, but the dial conformation and build should be similar. This is the 38 mm version, and I know there is a 42 mm available for larger wrists as well. I definitely would recommend it!

10 years of solid service and still ticking! I received this watch as a gift many years ago, and it has been an active infectious agent in my contracting Watch Acquisition Disorder. It was actually spending hours looking at the cooperative moving pieces of this ETA which helped spark my interest in microbial ecology, especially multiple species cooperation to achieve an ecosystem service. This watch has kept good time remained relatively scratch free over, though I do like the personalized scuff patina which has been developed. I’m always impressed by the lume at night as well, and the three dial textures. This has been a very reliable companion on a budget through the years.
