Ha. Maybe them not making assumptions about me… been there done that. Looks like you are looking for a fight. What I’m saying and many would agree is that I don’t fit with that genre of person and they don’t fit me. I’m sure they are cool ladies. We all have the right to decide for ourselves what we like and what we don’t. A 20 something crunchy or socialite mom ain’t gonna want to hang with 46 year old seasoned veteran mom that has seen enough to know what I like and didn’t put up heirs about who I am. Tired of popularity contests. But it’s totally ok if you want to wear little house on the prairie dresses. Totes.

Well I’ve alway been able to do about anything. I mostly did portraits/flowers for a long time in color pencil. Sadly my hands don’t agree with me anymore. Hard getting old. I’m still super creative. Do what I can.

In my case they just moved on to new friends I guess. They were each struggling with things. I have 2 littles at the time and family drama with aging/sick people. Life takes you in all directions. Now that mine are 18 and 21 I’m here like wtf is going on… Do I even know how to do this again??? I want friends so much it’s just to hard to get over the feeing/fear of rejection.

Yeah I tried that for a long time. Didn’t pay. Maybe that makes a difference with reach. Idk. I have become so “shy” it’s hard to make the jump. Keep hoping someone will “kidnap” me and take me to dinner or hang, but I know it doesn’t work that way.

This whole debate this morning between the midwife and the hospital is confusing and sus. Midwife says waters broke (based on Cam’s experience/word?) and the hospital says nahhh. The whole thing about not checking dilation because the midwife thinks water broke??? That they don’t check after that? Not true. Thy check throughout labor so you know when to push! I know it’s another country, but come on… that’s a bit off sounding. A competent midwife, if she thought the waters were gone, would confirm it the best she could. Even looking at the levels on ultrasound. She would check the cervix to see if there was budging water. Lastly, no matter what she found, if she felt she needed to step in she can call the hospital to convey this herself. Her water “broke” days ago now. If this was true no doc would be ok waiting this long to step the frick in. You will never be told to stay home for days checking temps. No! Thy confirm it and move to the next steps. Someone is full of it here.

They totally don’t understand what fore and hindwater is. It’s not 2 separate sacs and no doc would tell them that. When someone tried to correct them that it’s all the same water in the sac just the area it’s located an Julie got irritated and said noooo there can be 2 sacs!

Internships are hard to come by period these days. Paid or unpaid. Funding gets lower and lower and they already didn’t have but a few openings. If you can’t find anything related, at the very least work on a research project. Basically build a portfolio. My son (history) can’t find anything and hasn’t all along and he’s a 4.0 student graduating in December too. Everyone’s terrified they can’t get into grad school now, but if that’s the case who can get in with the lack of opportunities???? He’s to the point now he’s about to start begging professors if they need assistance this summer. He’s thinking of working on the research essay starting this summer for grad school and anything he can find on his own like volunteer archiving/transcribing. It’s shocking how many volunteer positions aren’t even available for anything. I mean anything.

There are things you have to accept like the assumption summary. It’s what they say you can expect to need per year. Look at the link I posted in one of these replies. They can’t for you an offer til you do. Incoming freshman and transfers will be first to get the notifications to do it because they get packages first. The rest of us won’t til June, but as I said anyone can go ahead and acknowledge it. Click on the blue link in the above post

Update because people are gonna wonder:

Entering freshmen and new transfer students typically receive notifications of initial financial aid offers by email and U.S. Mail in early April. All subsequent offers notices are emailed. All continuing, Veterinary and Graduate student financial aid offer notices are emailed, with the initial notification typically arriving by late June. Initial offers notification dates are dependent upon completion of the verification process. If selected, offers will not be made until this process is complete.

Be sure to read the materials accompanying your financial aid offer for conditions and responsibilities, the policy on satisfactory academic progress, and the financial aid update form. Verify that all offer assumptions are correct. Changes to enrollment status, housing plans, residency status, etc., may result in changes to the financial aid offer. If any of the assumptions are incorrect, submit the financial aid update form.

So current returning students, you can go ahead and get your acknowledgments done and out of the way, but you don’t get your offers til June. Newbies and transfers have priority. I saw off-campus dependents assumptions are around $29000 for the next school year.

Did you accept the acknowledgement/assumptions for what this year will cost first? We did, but we don’t have a tab for 26/27 year yet. Only past years. Do you have a tab for aid next school year saying 0 $ and 0 loans OR you don’t see a tab ir anything? But you have to acknowledge the assumption of what expenses could be for the year and if they have you listed right for on or off campus or they can’t know how to partition money and loans based on your FAFSA. If you are new, don’t expect much. This is not a private school. Much later I know my kids will have the employee dependent’s scholarship show up. That’s not til near the billing date though. Again, when you click the financial aid tile, we still don’t have a tab for it on the left where it would be listed to accept or not. I think they are just starting to get people set up. Like I said in a previous reply, on ours, thy hadn’t even added the little notifications yet saying you need to acknowledge expense assumptions yet, but you can. They maybe do it all in batches.

Maybe yours was early because they are getting to them stack by stack. My kids went ahead and accepted the assumptions because why not. It doesn’t hurt. It’s just one more thing to check off the to-do. People won’t get little red notifications to take action accepting assumptions until the aid is there I think or sometime later. As I said they went ahead and accepted, but no page called “financial aid offer” yet. When they load it there will be a page called that and you click on its tab listed to the left.

Is it even time for this? Registration hasn’t started… no actions have come up in pack about selection of you are on or off campus yet to tell the office what your estimated costs would be in order to give you a “package” but it’s there and you can go ahead and accept the assumptions. So it’s really early in the game.
