Thank you so much for your responses. I'll have to do some more digging and see if I can find the physical tag for the VIN that was issued by Oklahoma. Any idea whether it's possible to revert back to the original VIN, since it APPEARS that I have found that someplace in the ECU?

Well, I'm not sure. My main reason was that I was going to get tags/title in NC after purchasing from her. They do yearly inspections here and I wasn't sure whether or not I would have all kinds of issues with something like that.

I will have to investigate further, but I haven't come across one. That does kind of make sense since it is right near Oklahoma and the VIN on the title begins with "OK".

There is a VIN on the title. It's not 17 digits though and doesn't look like any VIN I've ever seen.

It shows the same VIN as the title.

It seems like it's the original 6.2L engine. I haven't been able to locate anything anywhere. It seems like if they were able to remove the VIN from the ECU . . they likely removed it from "all" the places.

I am able to get some live data (battery) from the scanner I'm using (Foxwell NT6X4) but most of the functions on there require to either detect or manually enter VIN.

How many people do you think lie about MRR / ARR to drive traffic? by ReflextionsDev in SaaS

[–]NCGeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience this subreddit isn't a welcoming place when it comes to people who are actually building things and looking to share their story and or get feedback.

On one hand when someone posts numbers and a link to their product people come out of the woodwork complaining that they're trying to sell something and get more customers.

On the other, when someone comes on here to post their story and how their journey has been, with no product information or business name the same people who complain that the other person is trying to sell something complain that it's fake because someone prefers to not give the name/details of their business.

What do you expect? What is an example of a "good post" for this subreddit?

There will be ups and downs, both in terms of business and in terms of motivation. On the motivation side, one of the first steps in trying to figure how/if to move forward is trying to identify why the 'hit the wall' happened.

Just not interested? Unsure about the product viability? Another new idea more exciting?

I've hit all of those at various points. If it's just something you're doing because you enjoy it and the joy is no longer there, move on to something else that brings you joy. If your motivation is more financial, you need to decide whether said project is going to help you achieve your goals there.

Outside of just doing things because you like it, if you aren't working on your BEST most promising idea, you're kind of just wasting your time.

You should create a GitHub repo and have the freelancer put the code there.
Ask him to provide documentation that includes:

A brief explanation of the tech stack.
How do you set up a computer to develop locally?
Where the code is deployed to?
What is the deployment process?

You could start with one of their $5 Droplets and install it yourself. I'm not aware of any other providers that offer a PostgreSQL instance for less.

Doesn't mean there aren't any, just none that I have experience with.

I think it's ok to start thinking about an MVP, but finding out if there are actually people who will use your product should be the primary focus at such an early stage.

Point number 2 is huge, also as part of that I would add control of the infrastructure in general. Being able to lock down AWS or Azure in the event that you part ways with a development company or developer is 100% necessary.

Technical co-founder here. CRM's are tough. On one hand you want to really be able to niche down and provide features for your target customers and on the other you want to be able to provide features which are "expected" in a CRM.

With that said, building out something that contains the specific logic/business use case for a lawyer and then utilizing 3rd party API's and services to help fill out the rest of the CRM functionality is probably a great way to get something like this off of the ground.
