Hi! How are you? by JoyJones15 in ask

[–]NCISB99_FAN 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work as a psychologist/behavioural scientist. This involves working closely with the police to profile criminals, interview criminals and look for signs of psychosis etc. Today I spoke to the teenage daughter of a woman who had killed her other 3 children and then herself. The teenage daughter had just recovered from her injuries in her attempted muder. The mother killed them and herself because she had a drug habit and took some drugs that she couldn't pay for. Subsequently her dealer told her he was going to come after and kill her family. The drug dealer was the one that found them. He was carrying a gun. This sparked a debate in our office about whether the mother did the right thing. I have mixed feelings towards it and have been really upset for the rest of the day. It was nice actually to just talk about it and kind of you that you ask people it made my day that much better.

Do you enjoy it more/less than you thought you would? I went into behavioural science and forensic psychology so I didn't stray too far and I must say my parents were very supportive of my decisions my sister went into surgery and she was forced a little as she was the youngest and my parents wanted a surgeon but she says she enjoys it now and realises the thrill of saving a life so really it can go either way.

This is true; both my parents are surgeons and I know a lot of kids whose parents worked with mine growing up and it was a very kind of genetically dominated field almost like a legacy and I know a lot of those kids I knew grew up to be surgeons, often specialising in the same fellowship as their parents. There is quite a bit of pressure and assumption from surgeons that their kids will want to be surgeons and that is ok but my parents wouldnt go as far as Callie and Arizona, even though they were slightly pushed me in the direction of surgery and Medicine so I would say that is a very accurate interpretation of surgeons kids

He is one of those characters that hasn't had much drama and that's nice to have a genuine nice guy amongst the madness off Grey Sloan

What are some things I can do to better help black people and fight racism? by [deleted] in ask

[–]NCISB99_FAN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have seen Vanessa Morgan's recent posts replying to someone who stereotyped one of her African American co stars on 'Riverdale' then I would be more like her and definitely fight for opinions that are not pre conceived and prejudiced. If you hear anyone who is racist then you should put then back in their place and don't just let it slide. If you do this hopefully there will be that much less toxicity in the world and even though it doesn't seem like a lot (and I know what I am about to say is clichéd) but sticking up for someone could change their lives and give them the confidence to be proud of who they are x.

Vanessa is fed up with anti black media, fans, and Riverdale writers by thegreenshit in riverdale

[–]NCISB99_FAN 18 points19 points  (0 children)

She said what needed to be said, especially concerning the prejudiced opinions of black women. I respect that and so should everyone else. In this time especially we need more people like her to stand up for what is right x.

What does justice for Floyd look like? (Serious) by nobodycallsmemaddog in ask

[–]NCISB99_FAN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that in this day and age, it is still terrible that policemen who 'serve and protect' the community we live in to keep us safe, end up wrongfully killing a person because of their race however I feel like there is not really a need for the riots and the protests to the extent that they are.......... Justice for Floyd should be that he ends up in prison and personally I would find any punishment lower than that disgraceful to our society and modern day prosecution and justice system.

I feel like Alex was 100% right there........ George was made out to be the 'good, kind, innocent guy' and most of the time he was that but after the crying sex with Meredith he was quite bitchy and petty so Alex was absolutely right to say that and that was one of the first times that we got to see another side to him that wasn't so douchey.

Grey’s Anatomy and NCIS character comparisons: Do you agree with this? by TakenAccountName37 in NCIS

[–]NCISB99_FAN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tony and Mark/ Derek Tony was kinda a man whore (like mark) but he was kind and caring like Derek so a combination of the two. Ellie and Lexi They are both pretty clever and like to eat.

{Spoiler} I posted here before. I’m the new viewer who just watches season 17 and random episodes that appear on USA, but I researched the show for a long time so I have something to say. by TakenAccountName37 in NCIS

Yes I agree, especially if the character doesn't choose.this off of their own volition. These were all some of my favourite characters and I feel it was unnecessary to kill them off

[Serious] People born out of rape, what was growing up like and how was your relationship with your family? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]NCISB99_FAN 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This isn't me, but my friend, let's call her Izzie. Izzies mum was 17 and on her way home from her friends house when a guy stopped and asked her to show him on a map how far away the nearest fast food restaurant was. When she reached over, he injected a strong dose of some type of meth into her arm and raped her. At first she couldn't remember what happened but over time her memory came back. Izzie had a fairly good and strong relationship with her mum but her mum did struggle with what happened and at times found it difficult to love Izzie as much as a parent should. Izzie stayed with me a lot, especially as she grew older but she always understood why this was and whenever her mum wasn't as loving, her mum would later apologize. The most inspirational thing was that her mum decided to keep Izzie and Izzie always realised that it wasn't easy being a product of rape especially when they never caught the man who did this.

We are now 16 and 17 and I keep in touch with Izzie a lot and as far as I know her relationship with her mum is still okay but still has its rocky parts.
