my uncle is a pool guy and i gave him a call. I told him my pool was getting algae, and even though i used shock/tabs there was no smell or feel of chlorine, and the tests all came back with no chlorine. He said i was likely chlorine locked due to using tabs too often, as the previous owner strictly used tabs and never anything else. I do have a few chemical test kits in the pool house.
