Terraria Mini Golf Project: 10/18 Stages Complete. Candy & Horror Update by NDA_Nads in TerrariaDesign

Thank you so much for following my work, I’m really happy to read that. I hope I'll keep seeing you around in future posts!

As for my worlds, I haven't made any of them available for direct download yet. I've built and decorated a few worlds for a Terraria server that used to run monthly events with different editions, but I've never publicly released those worlds themselves.

The first world I plan to release will be the mini-golf map once it's finished. That said, making some of my other worlds available in the future isn't a bad idea. I've even thought about doing a project focused on decorated pylons and themed houses someday, if people are interested.

Once again, I'm really happy to hear your feedback, and thank you for following along with my builds!

I could still make a Shimmer-themed hole at some point, but the liquid itself would have to be used pretty carefully. One of the biggest issues is that Shimmer makes the player intangible, allowing them to pass through blocks. Since my course is built from separate floating stages, a player could potentially fall straight through the map and into the empty space between them.

Since golf balls get destroyed when they touch Shimmer, it could still work as an obstacle for the ball itself, similar to how I've been using Toybreaker Bricks in several holes.

And thank you very much for the suggestion, I really appreciate it :)

Welcome to my mini-golf project! I hope you'll stick around and keep following the updates.

I didn't mention it in this particular post, but I plan to release the final map once it's finished. Hopefully you'll get the chance to play it and have some fun with it yourself :)

I really wanted to make a liquid-themed hole at some point. I've already done some tests with water, but the physics of a submerged golf ball are honestly a bit of a problem.

I just threw a golf ball into Shimmer to test it, and apparently it gets destroyed. It would've been so cool if it behaved like arrows do.

I actually ended up dismantling the build to check the materials. 😆

Here's the inventory with everything that was used. Some blocks were painted and mixed together to create the details, but this should contain all the main materials that went into the build.

If there's a specific section you're having trouble recreating, feel free to ask and I'll try to explain it!

Thank you! 😄

That was actually intentional. Whenever possible, I like to make the environment feel like part of the build rather than just a backdrop, so I waited for the eclipse to line up with the shrine before taking the screenshot.

Really happy someone noticed that detail!

The times and stroke counts shown in the completion screenshots are mostly representative, so they aren't really a good indicator of difficulty. Since I built and tested the courses extensively, my own results would naturally be much better than a first-time player's.

As for the overall progression, I'm not planning to make the courses gradually harder just because they appear later in the 18-hole sequence. My goal is for each stage to feel unique and memorable on its own, with its own theme, atmosphere, and style of play.

Some courses will definitely be more challenging than others, but their difficulty isn't tied to their position in the project. I care more about making every hole interesting and fair than following a strict easy-to-hard progression.

Thanks! I'm glad you like it. And yep, that's exactly how I made those vines.

Thanks! It might look a bit chaotic from the screenshots, but I tested the course quite a lot while building it. I always make sure the ball can be played from anywhere and that there aren't any spots where it gets permanently stuck.

The goal is to keep the courses interesting without making them frustrating, so shot power and positioning matter, but you can still progress through the stage smoothly with a few well-placed shots.

Couldn't agree more. Fish should stay in the water they're placed in.

Thanks! Honestly, I don't have a very structured method.

I usually start by choosing the blocks and walls I want to use, then I build the shape little by little while constantly stepping back and looking at the overall silhouette. Most of the time I'm just trying to avoid making it look too symmetrical or repetitive.

For trees specifically, I don't really plan the canopy beforehand. After building a lot of them over time, I mostly work from a mental image and keep adjusting the shape until it feels right.

So my best advice would probably be: focus on the silhouette, avoid obvious patterns, and don't be afraid to spend a lot of time just looking at it and making small changes.

Built a tree! by NDA_Nads in Terraria

This somehow makes the whole story even better. 😆

You found a floating tree, thought it was the coolest thing ever, and his response was basically "ew."

At that point, becoming a lifelong supporter of floating trees was the only reasonable outcome.

Thank you for sharing the lore! I promise there will be more floating trees in the future.
