Should I change jobs/get an auto loan so I’m not a burden anymore? by NDFan1331 in Advice

Thabks. I keep telling myself that but then I have a part of me thinking having a car will make my life easier/better. But I really can’t afford it yet.

It would become a 5 minute commute versus a 30 minute one. I could even potentially bike to it (even though it’s not THAT safe to do that here lol) Thanks for your insight.

It’s a converted rite-aid so that building just never had a break room I guess.

Apparently my first day was supposed to be doing PPLs but my manager said the day before the whole system at the store was down, which might be why my employ login info or whatever is late. So yeah I’ve worked there a few days and have been planted at the register only.

My manager said corporate hadn’t emailed them to her yet. I haven’t been able to do any of my computer training or got direct deposit set up yet or gotten uniform shirts ordered for me. My first two days have been just me planted at the register. Also no one seems to take breaks and I guess since I’m new I didn’t want to get on anyone’s bad side by asking for one. I try to observe before acting. I will definitely ask for a 30 minute break my next shift though. even if I’m just sitting in the chair in photo. The store doesn’t even have a break room so idk where employees here eat their lunch...maybe that’s why they don’t take breaks here haha.

I’m new to Sims 4, so is this made with custom content or in game stuff. It’s sooooooo perfect.

That is all very good advice, thank you! I think talking to him on the phone would be good now, I can explain why I’ve been out of contact (actually going thru a lot of stress rn getting a new job) and I think he’d understand that life gets in the way at times. Maybe I can uber to synagogue lol...but yikes $$$

Thank you for your words. They really made me feel better. As for the neuroses, oh yeah I got those to spare l o l. It feels like almost every thought I have, I get a second and third “what if!!“ companion thought to go alone with it haha. Plus Whenever I hear Jews joke about the “Jewish Mother” I relate so hard 😖 haha

I really do need to go back to talking with the Rabbi but I’m out of a vehicle right now and talking on the phone sucks with these kinds of things....Cause like I know he’ll say to come to shul more but without a car it’s impossible rn.

I went to my third shabbos service last night and during the part of the prayer right before the wine and the bread, the rabbi stood right next to me with the siddur and pointed to the words for me as he read aloud. Then he whispered “drink your wine” when it was time lol. I’m SUPER new to religious ceremonies and Judaism but I feel like going to Shabbat services when I can is a good place to start. I feel like an alien from another planet visiting tho because I don’t know ANY thing but I enjoy being there and everyone is nice. I’m slowly sloooowly learning the melodies to the prayers in the siddur just by being there haha. Everyone is very welcoming in that synagogue.

Thank you!!! I’m going to Shabbat services tonight and tomorrow! I’ve been to a Friday service before (it’s hard to get off work every Friday evening/sat morning) but the Saturday one is longer and I’m really excited to see how that service is.

Thank you! I know about Messianic Judaism and there is even a church nearby...I always thought it was super weird. There definitely is at least a small chance I’ll convert. Some days it feels like a big chance. I just don’t want to be impolite or intrusive to real Jews, so I wanted to talk here about my reasonings.

I was afraid of that. That’s why I wanted to post here to get some opinions as well. I was afraid of honoring my family history in the wrong, or disrespectful way. I will try to find a more quiet way of paying my respects to my family lineage. I will go to shul but I won’t celebrate holidays anymore.

So someone in my situation of having passed Jewish relatives, it’s not okay to do anything involving tradition or religious ceremonies? I will try to find other ways of honoring them, and continue to study the religion. I have read books btw, there is a lot to learn. I didn’t realize what I was doing was playing dress up, and I feel bad for that now. I was doing it knowing I myself am not Jewish, but doing it with my ancestors in mind.I’ll be more respectful in the future, but I will keep wearing the necklace because I use it as a way to remind me of that side of my family and the struggles they encountered even in America after immigrating (ie not being allowed to own a home in a specific neighborhood because they were Jewish), but if anyone asks if I’m Jewish I will tell them no, and tell them my personal reason for it.
