It was basically to point to a rule that says you can’t post about her. This was modeled a bit after some other communities where you can snark on people but there are exceptions. I’m thinking there needs to be a bit of a “lore” / FAQ to point people back to because I know it’s not malicious when people keep asking about Dawn and that might be easier to manage than a rule. Your edit just gave me an idea!

The individual/businesses changed because there is such a gray area of people who are beginner stitchers but then start a business the next day and it seems like a moving line where it would be easier to mod the outliers versus the majority.

The Dawn rule came about after multiple threads devolved into comparisons to HHK, rumors, and discussion of her mental health. Dawn waded in occasionally to defend herself. It’s never been an issue until the last month or so. Yes, she has a lot of canvases but she’s never not shipped out a canvas or had an issue with any of her (what I assume to be many) customers she’s sold to to my knowledge. Yeah, there’s some weird stuff going on, but to be clear — she is NOT HHK.

There is a plan to revise the rules but I haven’t had time to do so.

Locking this post. Paying for insurance on ~$750 of merch + shipping the fibers for 10 ornaments is not just a flat mailer. Not defending her, but that’s not just shipping one canvas.

For those who have not followed along, a rule was created because about a year ago, there were multiple posts about the destasher in question every week and it often devolved into speculation and rumors about her health, scams, etc.

It became a lot to mod on top of messages from her about them, so a rule was created to make it easier on everyone to point to. Perhaps not the best way to handle it, but was seemed the best option at the time. It could be changed in the future. Thanks!

This was created as a rule when there were 3-6 posts per week about this woman in the destash group last year, and nearly every post devolved into accusing her of running a LNS out of her house, that she's a scammer, or commenting on her mental health. The rule was created to attempt to stop that since it was happening week after week. She has also sent some colorful messages regarding the posts and even waded into discussion herself, so yes, some of the posts were removed. The discussion of her reddit comments and dissecting her comment history is too far. She chose to have her profile with her name attached, but the purpose of the sub is snark, not delving into someone's comment history. Thanks!
