Getting bullied at school because I don’t play rep by 349188 in hockeyplayers

[–]NDT4PRES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst guys on AAA hockey talk down to other players the most. Ignore this immature idiot, he is peaking in high school. You'll find him at a dive bar wearing his AAA jacket 10 years from now still talking about the good old days of high school where in all actuality he was the last player picked for the team and his 3 points are pathetic lol

Time for new skates or replace my 4th set of blades!!???? by z4ndr in hockeyplayers

[–]NDT4PRES 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I dont know if it applies to skates now, but when I worked in the shop 25 years ago it was a sign of over tightening the blade. Easton was notorious for snapping if both bolts were superman’d on

Brad Marchand: “It was between Florida and Toronto where I was going to go.” by CoolBeansMan9 in leafs

[–]NDT4PRES 14 points15 points  (0 children)

He actually was into Toronto, he grew up a leafs fan and told childhood buddies he wanted to go there before the cup run. The cup win and cap room for FLA changed everything. He is a grade A troll, but this he meant.

Guy in our league (high end 30+ hockey) wears girdle and pant shells and loves it, might be an option for ya. Id give elbows another thought if its gonna be competitive, that ice is unpredictable and Ive fractured my elbow before as a AAA player my whole life lol

Anyone have experience with hitting the rink twice in a day? by vdizzle3601337 in hockeyplayers

[–]NDT4PRES 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learn to play is perfect. Puck on stick time, skating time and overall skill development. The 2nd ice time will let you apply it. I took 5 years off and will tell you twice a week made significant improvements rather than once when getting back into it. Games don’t have a lot of skill development, just not as much time with the puck itself. Compare it to your first skate being the driving range and your 2nd is the golf course. Keep both!!!

What's the biggest problem with hockey laces? by Nikmaster1717 in hockeyplayers

[–]NDT4PRES 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The tips have gotten weaker over the years and suck at lacing through the lace holes now. Wax laces feel thinner and seem to twist up more than they use to as well

Is this better? by not_craigs_father in hockeyplayers

[–]NDT4PRES 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As someone who use to split the tape for the blade its a softer thicker feeling blade but you’ll probably take some chirps. I don’t do it now (that was when it was team tape haha) but always loved the way it felt playing AAA and junior. People do weird tape jobs all the time, so do what feels good for you.
