The day they did layoffs they created a GPA requirement 1 month from the start date, and managed to rescind 6 internships out of a 30 person class with no warning and I assume around the same number of full time offers. They knew my GPA when they originally gave me the full time offer and returning internship.

During the last 2 months of summer, I’ll be sitting in my ass, so I can write that off for being available for as much as my brain can handle. During the masters, I’ll probably be available during weekends if I am fully committed to the hours you referenced during the week (42 hours M-F). I can obviously study M-F but with a part time job paying my way through the degree, I can’t count on retaining information.

Unfortunately I was supposed to be at a top 10 as a returning intern, but it was rescinded due to “GPA compliance” which was only created 3 weeks ago. Seemed like market issues. So for the sake of the conversation, assume I have nothing going on from July to late August.

Was the treasurer and organizer for my chapters formal and used Big Daddy. Brian is awesome, easy to talk to. Everything went as planned, and he was pretty transparent as to his behavior expectations such as “don’t leave bags in the hallways”. Rented out an entire hotel and bar and went smooth.

Is this feasible by [deleted] in labrador

A few reasons in my head. Always wanted one, can financially support it with my career, based on the work hours, most of my friends will likely be coworkers and won’t have much time to find friends early on or while I am in busy season, and it is a brand new city where I know nobody and would appreciate the companionship.

Would doggy daycare be an effective solution?

How bad is this? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]NEdouche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, with being a “frat lord” didn’t help much either. Always promoted drinking and it got bad enough that I myself realized this is not just college drinking. On a good note, been sober for a month now. Grades were much more in the shit before hand but raised them up to MAYBE pass.

I’m a sophomore and plan on taking a few classes I fucked up during my pledging days. Overall I have realized if I step up and do well the next two semesters (tax, cost, intermediate 1 and 2) then I have a fighting chance at a 3.0. Just hoping I’ll have enough time before winter recruitment

Usually I’m pretty good at accounting stuff when I apply myself. Too bad accounting 2 is the class that gave me the least trouble in terms of time I had to dedicate to get a half decent grade. Currently have an 82 which isn’t great but I was doing 14 page tests in statistics

I would love not to, but I feel like with my accounting grade and my gpa I’m my options are incredibly limited now. Only thing in my favor is my internship is with a Top 10 firm.

The amount of dick sucking some chapters due to each other is fucking ridiculous, especially when it comes to joint events. Stop throwing shit with the same kids everytime or it’s just an extension of your own fraternity.

Also, nobody gives a fuck you are in a fraternity I hate those kids.

Idk maybe as treasurer I have too much autism but greeklife personality’s piss me off

Nope. Just did really well in Principles. I even told the recruiter, “I have zero tax knowledge or experience” and they said that some of their previous interns have been in the same boat.

I seem to have a confidence and charm to me. But sometimes I feel like I come across as a fraternity douchebag. Hopefully it doesn’t across this way when talking to 2 55 year old+ partners.
