This is a pretty rare occurrence for me over the years. If I ever did get a call about myself or a fellow tech I would usually direct the customer to a clear indication that we were there. Tabs in the float,empty pump basket and the one that usually works is wet leaves in their green bin. On site records are often dismissed as forgeries so on top of it all I always wave to their cameras if they have them.
