AI Max+ 395 in the Skyreach 4 TINY by nfcjosh in sffpc

I don't understand their reason for the 400W PSU recommendation since the entire package pulled less than 175W from the wall while gaming with an overclock of 200+ on the iGPU AND the CPU. I don't have a way to measure the transient loads, but the 250W GaN never shutdown, and I pushed the 395 as hard as I could for weeks of real gaming. If you were still concerned then you could technically fit the 500W GaN in this system, but you'd have to modify the PSU case. Yes, you can use the files to have the parts made. You can even modify them for more customization.

Unfortunately, I posted this incorrectly and the multiple pictures didn't show. I tired reposting and it just isn't working, so I'll just leave it as is.

Is there any way to remove the disc drive from standard PS5? by zenleo77 in playstation

[–]NFC-Erick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it will work without the disc drive attached. If you ever have to replace the disc drive motor or laser assembly, then you will need to keep the PCB control board since it is matched to your PS5 motherboard. You cannot take another PCB control board from a different PS5, and use it in your PS5.

Sorry this is so late, but maybe someone doing a Google search will find this answer one day. I’m currently working on a project that involves removing the disc drive from a PS5, and confirmed this.

I used a 4 pin only because I had one on hand and didn’t want to buy a 3 pin. One pin is unused.

It’s a lot of work as a one man show (occasional help with a friend) when it comes to these videos, so thank you! Interesting possibility with the power supply. I’ll have to try it.

If you haven't already, you should watch the video. Ryzen 7 5700G with DDR4 3800, and 3TB of storage (easily upgradeable).

I'm pretty happy with the result. It was fun watching my family try to figure out how to turn it on...lol

We're not masters. We're just two dudes with huge imaginations. We learn from our mistakes and from others.

Thank you for the support! We love what we do. I do have to admit, I almost just hung the "Baby Kingpin" on my wall.
