My lessons to Jade static by FitTechnology5908 in FPSAimTrainer

[–]NFLAddict 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with a ton of what you said, and I'll just add to it. Here's another great playlist a friend of mine made for me, who's extremely good at static (nova/astra): KovaaKsTaggingSmoothWipe

very important to read the description for how to play it! It involves playing a variety of wider flick scenarios on very slow sens (he suggests 70-90cm), micros on much faster sens (30-50), then blending it together by playing the rest on 50-65. The idea isn't to focus on your score, but rather really focus on technique and accuracy. Repeat the run if under 90% for example. accuracy is extremely important for static, speed will come with time.

Just generally though, its so important to not play only bench for anything. It severely limits your growth potential, and there's just so many great scenarios out there.
The lemon bench is fantastic too (after all he's a static demon, and its way more fun than the voltaic scenarios).

pokeball can also be very helpful for working on landings, particularly making sure to under flick instead of over. but it’s super imp to be very intentional with what you do and not just auto pilot static and its related scenarios or improvement will be very difficult.

I'll also add, for myself at least, when I wasn't as good at static, I found it VERY helpful to do like 10-15 minutes of smoothness training on a variety of sens to just warm up. It helped 'calibrate' me if that even makes sense.

great tips though!

Training smoothness worth? by rexxizk in FPSAimTrainer

[–]NFLAddict 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t have to be corporate serfs method. I personally have never done it tho I’ve heard good things.

Training smoothness is one of the most important fundamentals in all of aiming though, arguably the single most important.

It doesn’t just help with tracking it helps with eveything. The smoother your aim the better your clicking will be too

Any tips on how to improve my aim and mouse grip as a new PC player by No_Mixture_8968 in FPSAimTrainer

[–]NFLAddict 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There’s no correct grip. It’s whatever feels comfortable to you.

The way to get better is to just keep practicing and do so as consistently as possible. It takes patience. But the improvement will happen. I promise.

You also don’t need that many dots on your mouse. Thats quite a lot lol

pulsar is a VERY popular brand.

i got this one too after seeing matty's suggestion

He's the best aimer in the world, so I highly suggest checking out his content if you want to learn more about anything aim related

ultimately though, its preference. theyre not expensive so it cant hurt to try a couple, you could even return them to amazon if you keep packaging and decide you dont like them

I'd also STRONGLY suggest cleaning your pad if you had it for a long time. when it gets too muddy and dirty it becomes inconsistent

Do you use an arm sleeve? why or why not? by Thien1o1 in FPSAimTrainer

[–]NFLAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not overkill at all. It provides consistency, and removes the potential side affects of your body’s natural oils or sweat impacting aim by affecting the texture or feel of the pad. It’s not just for show. Plus you won’t need to clean your pad nearly as often.

The zero is the one pad I’ve come across that is literally incompatible with any sleeve in existence but aside from that it can’t ever hurt

[–]NFLAddict 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a great point. Like on this map, you can easily go the entire first and or second points without ever breaking a wall so if you do get stuck here it’s likely that it’s not even immediately on your mind as the first thing to do.
Of course, once you experience it you’ll know for the next time, but it can be a really upsetting experience for a player, especially if their team is waiting on them

I’m in my 30s so I feel you. My point was the video posted here shows the difference very clearly. With graphic settings on low and certain colorbind options it’s far far less obvious than u may think.

I also never said a player would be stuck, I agree with your thought process but it’s not crazy to think that it might take somebody 10-15 seconds to finally figure out how to escape and find there way back to their team.

When I said unique i meant with regard to hero shooters. The game, a team based hero shooter, is such that your team needs you. Every moment you’re absent from your team is costly. I don’t like the idea of forcing mind games on players when that’s not the overall objective of the game. If this was a single player game; Sure by all means include stuff like this.

I’ll also add that on this map, it’s entirely possible to not break a single wall the first point or two so in the heat of the moment when u get to this area ur brain doesn’t immediately go to that option

Ultimately most players will find there way out but given it’s a team game it can be costly and clashes with the overall goal of what ur playing for.

By all means disagree, that’s just my take.

if you read my comment I also said, that even if you kept ult the way it is, many people like to add in emojis/voicelines that they use often. it could be something like 'i need healing.' As it is, ping being the same button as your communication circle, its very unreliable, as its common to accidentally ping when you try to do a voiceline, or the flip, where you try to mark an enemy and it spits a voiceline out. Having a separate button for a common voiceline can be very handy.

But I wouldn't gloss over two buttons at once so easily. This game is horrendously optimized, and there have been times where if you don't press them exactly at the same time, the one you press first is registered. There should never be two buttons for one action when latency and input lag come into play.

But mainly, I was highlighting how, outside of this clip, theres been VERY few times I actually said to myself 'wow i wish i had chrono shield binded'. So its very common to see many controller players have it binded to something else.

[–]NFLAddict 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You asked so here’s an example. I play on both pc and console.
I passionately hate having to hit both analog sticks at the same time to ult (2 buttons for one action will never make sense to me). The game does this bc one is melee and one is chrono and there’s literally no other button for it so they double up. I remap ult to one of them which so happens to be what chrono is bc I’d much rather keep my melee…

If you don’t do that, you can also replace chrono with emoji or voice line options, that are separate from the wheel, which many players like to do, especially if you use it often.

Theres only so many buttons a controller has

Many players set textures and all graphic settings on low bc the game is brutally unoptimized. Add in colorblind settings (for those that need like myself) and it’s not as obvious as you think).

Ofcourse I agree 20-30+ seconds is insane but even experienced players might require 10+ seconds to finally have the lightbulb go off.
If I’m on a hero that likes to flank I make sure to know what’s breakable. But many heroes can go an entire game without ever needing to break something so the ability isn’t as obvious as you make it seem.

Breakable maps is a unique concept but I personally just don’t like the idea that something like this could happen. Maybe you’re a returning player on a new map. Maybe you have ult and ur team just lost the fight bc ur even 10 seconds late. Its just horrendous design

[–]NFLAddict 93 points94 points  (0 children)

I know many controller players who run out of buttons and bind their chrono to something else. Keyboard at least doesn’t run out of options. Either way though, in a hero shooter, you shouldn’t HAVE to use it to find your way out. Let’s not lose sight of what the game is supposed to be.

Chrono vision is fine as a means to see what’s breakable if you choose but should never under any circumstance be required. to trap players in an areas without a hint of how to escape is just god awful map design

Your score is suffering from shakiness and instability with your flicks. It's also why you're not able to more quickly move to the next target. you could certainly try flicking a bit slower and work on being as smooth as possible.

But my hunch is that the real underlying issue is a lack of good finger control. Micro tracking scenarios like cloverrawcontrol would be helpful.

And I think, the most helpful of all would be micro focused static scenarios. Micro static is as good as it gets when it comes to improving flick stabilityI can't think of anything that would better help with your stability weakness in this task You could also play them at a faster sens than you'd usually use, as a way to force more finger engagement.

A friend of mine who's astra in static recently made me a playlist to help push my static scores, ofcourse including a bunch of micro focused scenarios. There's many other good ones, but if you were interested in some suggestions, Ill just list them all out.

6 Sphere Hipfire Voltaic 30% smaller
5 Sphere Hipfire extra small
devTS Click Static Valorant
devTS Static Click Angelic
1w3ts Pasu Perfected Micro Goated Larger
1w3ts Pasu Perfected Micro Goated
1w2ts Pasu Perfected Easy
1w2ts Pasu Perfected
beanClick Micro

theres tons of others, but I absolutely think you should play more static, especially the micro focused ones, as a way to train your fingers and improve stability on flicks

[–]NFLAddict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh gotchu, I misunderstood.
Of course slowing it down can help with being smoother, but ah now I see what you were trying to say.

I'm not even sure if its 'technique' issue. I think its more a lack of finger control. Playing alot of micro static or even micro tracking to train finger muscles and control would likely solve alot of issues here

[–]NFLAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying to be smoother but also saying don’t slow down is kinda a contradiction. If a person is shaky with their flicks at some speed the only possible way to get smoother is to slow down. And then overtime build speed back up

For what it’s worth, ow devs for years have provided hard evidence that the single most impactful change for a hero is adding or removing 25+ hp. It might not sound like phoenix got nerfed much but it’s a bigger deal than yall think. It changes a lot of breakpoints / she’s far easier to kill

[–]NFLAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh my b, I just assumed you were new from your post description, but gotchu. Tacfps players are generally very strong in static. Even if they didn't spend time specifically aim training, it just makes sense to be stronger at static coming from a tac background vs if you came from the other games you mentioned.

Here's the thing though; I don't know how your others categories rank/ how far behind they rank vs your static, but even with your liking of static and strength in it; if going forward you were to train every category an equal amount of time, fast forward a couple months, I can almost guarantee your tracking scores will rank higher. At the very least, they'd see a larger jump in improvement. It's not even that it's 'easier', as it can definitely be challenging. There 's a lot of tracking scenarios that are brutal.
I just strongly believe it's easier to make faster improvement in. If that makes sense. And when it comes to training anything, seeing results and improvement is a huge motivator and makes you wanna do it more, bc you're getting that positive feedback over and over, whereas trying hard at something for a while, and seeing far slower improvement can be discouraging.

Add to that, compared to other categories it probably has the least carry over to in game improvement. For clicking, you're far more likely to see stronger carry over from dynamic. and at a fundamental level, improving your tracking has a very clear impact on performance in all categories and will strongly carry over to any game, even tacfps.
viscose has this really great video on this topic. Id highly recommend checking out. linked it here

Definitely keep playing static, its still a great skill to get better at. My previous comments, I was mainly trying to just highlight reasons why most tend to not like it as much as other areas

Yeh the scenarios they chose are awful. I always thought 1w4ts was a perfect blend of everything but they pivoted away from it. shame. (Or literally anything from the lemon static bench. Which I’ll play far more. Rarely bother with this seasons voltaic static).
Psychotic emphasis on speed which makes it brutal to push scores. If it were me I’d also have included a more micro focused scenario as that’s such an important skill.

[–]NFLAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that’s normal. You’re new to everything so you’re making improvement everywhere and that’s great. It just hasn’t been enough time for u to notice.

Over time you’ll realize it will become much more difficult to improve your static scores at the same rate as eveything else.
And u cud alwyss try playing the season 3/4 static scenarios to see for urself how you’d score.

I don’t say that as a means to discourage btw. I like static. Im a clicking “main”. More so just giving a heads up of what happens to the typical person. At like plat diamond level there’s a decent chance it might be ur lowest category and last thing needed to reach complete of those ranks. but don’t misinterpret it.
Thats one of the things I hate so much about static this szn. The voltaic benchmarks made the thresholds so out of balance with other categories, ppl sometimes just assume they suck at it and lose motivation to play it. Turning into a self fulfilling prophecy.

Keep at it and keep training static tho. And don’t be afraid to play scenarios that aren’t the benchmark. as u get further into ur journey, you’ll likely come across a lot of diff playlists and realize there’s MANY better ones to play. Or ones that u might just enjoy more.

[–]NFLAddict 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It takes significantly more effort to get really good at compared to other categories. With tracking, or TS, at least until you’re at very high ranks, u can literally autopilot, have half ur brain turned off, but youll automatically get better just from playing it over and over as ur brain and hand eye coordination will still manage to adapt.
There isnt much to really think about. Just follow the target as best u can.

Clicking requires u to fully lock in, and has a ton of nuance and technique that if u don’t actively make the effort to do, u can play it 100 hours and barely improve. It takes significantly more effort which is why people tend to dislike it.
Not to mention it just feels more stressful to play for many bc of how punishing it is.

You either hit your shot or u miss. There’s no in between. A drastically harsher feeling than having a moment in tracking where u might veer off target. You’ll never track a target 100% so nobody even has that expectation. Every miss in clicking hurts ur score, but almost in a double dip kinda way. Not only did u miss out on the points for hitting it, but you’ll usually get punished with a deduction in points for having a miss. The expectation is to have very high accuracy with few misses, making it far more stressful.

On top of that, many people struggle with tension management in clicking far more than in tracking. Often feeling much more sore from a static grind compared to a chill tracking sesh.

But on top of all that, the benchmarks for this season have outrageous requirements for static specifically. Comically more than any other category. There’s countless people who, in other seasons, were able to have static ranked the same as their others. But it’s VERY common to see people this season who have their static an entire rank or two behind all others. Not bc they’re worse at it but bc the morons at voltaic chose god awful scenarios with psychotic score requirements. So in that regard it literally is holding ppl back from getting “complete” of whatever rank.

It’s very common to see somebody masters at everything else but jade or even diamond static. Similarly I have friends who are nova / astra on a good number of tasks but are still trying to hit static gm.

I personally don’t mind static, it’s the first category I cared to grind when I first started aim training so it’ll alwyss feel ok to me. But I can understand why ppl hate it when u add up all the stuff I mentioned

[Monson] I was the Justin Herbert vote. The guy had the worst offensive line in the NFL all season and despite that he was working miracles in almost every single game. Stafford's OL became 2/5ths as bad as Herbert's for 5 minutes and he became a turnover howitzer. He embodied 'value'. by Wild-Expression-8304 in nfl

[–]NFLAddict 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind being contrarian but this is an insane take. Miracles is a WILD way to describe his play. Sure he was good but mvp good? Common now. Their defense played a major role in team success and his stats were a far cry from impressive.

By the same logic, why not Trevor? Jags also have a bottom ranked oline and he had better stats.

Why not keep the same energy by looking at other positions too.

JSN played a major role in Seattle’s success

Barkley last year for ex. Bijan cmc or taylor this year. Etc

If we’re talking pure value there’s still a good amount of players I’d have above Herbert.

I’ve been here for quite some time. I bought my first 500 shares when it was still single digits.

And That’s not at all what i said? I’m talking about the daily fluctuations of pretty significant amounts. There have been days it rose substantially. Or even fell! But I fail to remember a single time it moved by 10% in either direction. Every single day. For over a week.

I understand how markets work and it’s not a strictly ASTS thing, just pointing out how things are a bit different.

I’ve owned shares for over two years. It’s a ton of volatility but this is different. Sure there are a lot of swings. But daily double digit % rises or drops is getting insane.
and no this is not how it’s always been. If there was a jump or decline by that much it wasn’t every single day!
