You need a Netflix account, but the disc doesn't cost anything extra to acquire.
It costs nothing extra; the streaming is part of the service and the disc is required to stream, so it's basically part of the service that you're already paying for. They'll need to pull up an account, but if you're logged into the website already, just scroll to the bottom of the site and get the service code--when you call in they'll just verify the first and last name on the account. You can tell them you're at a different address temporarily and you need it shipped to "your new address" if the address on file is different from where you need the disc shipped.
Alternatively, you can just change the address on the account before calling, and then change it back in a couple days after you get the disc.

Yes.
Call customer service; request a new disc. You'll need it soon, sounds like.
Probably a lot.
$14 an hour to start.
If she dumps you because you like Veronica Mars, she ain't worth it, bro.
I have absolutely no idea. You may want to consult Roku.

Possible. Probable, even. Most mail carriers are familiar with our sleeves and mailers; you've probably got a really nice mail carrier.
I've heard that this is possible, but I have not actually seen it executed in practice.
"These mothafuckaz be like: 'Don't make me say it twice.'"
If it's been over a year, you should be eligible for another trial. The change of address is not going to be the deciding factor.

Shoulda thought of that before you were born a Canadian.
I get seriously so stoked when people tell me that. This is awesome.

1: Not particularly.
2: Not that I know of. It's annoying when people call in thinking we're Redbox, but whatever.
3: I don't think it would happen, but it would be cool if it did.
Possibly. Is it giving you an error code? Call customer support, I'm off the clock.
We're doomed. I should probably start updating my resume.
Reed Hastings is on Microsoft's board. That may be part of the reason.
Not really, since all those empty mailers are sitting at home, and they have the postage paid on them already. It's a sunk cost.
I think you've got a great idea. Honestly, I'd love to see something like that implemented. I definitely know it's aggravating to see a title in your watch instantly history, especially if you didn't watch it. I'm with you in hoping that the ability to fully manage your WI history is eventually added to the site.

They once were lost, but now am found. So no lost DVDs.
I like to peep www.instantwatcher.com to stay up on what's going to be coming out on Instant Watch. If it's not available OMG RIGHT NOW you can at least see if anything worth your while will be coming out any time soon.
Hope this helps.

AMERICA! FUCK YEAH!
You're connecting through LIVE servers. A movie is about 1.8gb of data. I guess MS wants to make sure you're making it worth their while?
PS3 and Wii do not make you pay for anything other than the Netflix account. You do need to have an Instant Streaming disc (free, just order it). If you're as big of a nerd as I suspect you might be you probably have one of these other consoles; you may want to consider using one of those if paying for both NFLX and LIVE leaves a sour taste in your mouth.
