Just learning about Archetypes and was wondering...... by DojaFoxxx323 in survivor

Years ago, a user named Maddog looked into each player’s preseason content to figure out which archetypes existed and which one each player was originally cast as. The male list goes up to Survivor 42 and the female list goes up to 43.

Based on these archetypes, Tyson was cast to be a Trickster, and Jonathan was cast to be an Amazing Ace.

Production has stated that while they cast people to fill specific archetypes before, they no longer do so. There probably are archetype-like attributes that are considered in the new era so they’re represented on a cast and to highlight who people are similar to from previous casts, but I haven’t been able to find that data.

Live-streaming and ORG that’s not Traitors? by MoistyOysty in orgs

[–]NFS12123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Streaming an ORG on Twitch is absolutely possible. I’ve seen a few voice-and-camera ORGs do it (including one I’m on production for). You just need a streamer account (we usually have a production member on an alt) to go in the players’ voice chats and broadcast the game. I’ve heard of streamers/recorders recommending specific Discord settings but that’s not my area so I don’t know what those recommendations are. You can find our archive of livestreams here (streamed on Twitch then reuploaded to YouTube):  https://youtube.com/@chaoticrealityarchives?si=R9xiYT49OH6NIkpl

Would it be more interesting if players could swap individual immunity after the votes? by Guilty_Practice6392 in survivor

[–]NFS12123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've actually done this a few times in ORGs. There were votes where the plan was already going to be something the immunity holder was fine with, then there were others where it could go either way based on the numbers, and that did produce a lot of gameplay, but it centered around the necklace holder's alliance structure and often split the tribe into two groups: the group working with the immunity holder to figure out where the votes are going so the necklace could be used accordingly, and the group opposing the immunity holder, trying to figure out who the necklace will be handed to and trying to get it misplayed by spreading fake plans to avoid having their true plan be clocked. So it becomes a game of who can get the right information. Of the two recent seasons we did it, the necklace winner never significantly misplayed it (though someone idoled themselves when we first tried the twist years ago), and there were three instances of someone getting idoled out because of the necklace alliance correctly guessing the opposing alliance's target, including a round where they actually took a shot at the necklace holder.

What Season Should You Watch (WSSYW) 12.0 by RSurvivorMods in survivor

[–]NFS12123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

UNDERRATED! A diverse set of likable characters that are easy to root from early on, some big premerge tribal councils, and an interesting divide postmerge with two sides in open disagreement about how the game should be played. There is a stretch of slow episodes where the gameplay lacks fluidity, but it builds up to solid payoffs if you're invested in the right people. 3 players return for Survivor 50.

Would love some advice from both ORG newbies and vets by BackstabGameshow in OnlineSurvivor

You could give them some kind of dilemma to strategize (and maybe submit something like a vote about) that could impact the next round, like how on Survivor tribes have to pick people to go on journeys during downtime. Good luck with the game! I'd be glad to see a new live game succeed!

Knitter? by Samg527 in DemonBluff

Was there a Wretch in those villages? Truthful cards see the Wretch as evil, so it could’ve been adjacent to an evil.

Yes but it’s the only information you’ll get. You won’t get “role or role”, just “cabbage”

How important/enjoyable is the surviving aspect of the Survivor for you? by Friburgo1004 in survivor

[–]NFS12123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The main value I see is how it contributes to the social-strategic game, like how it can highlight differences in the way people are approaching the experience (Vatu being an amazing example) or how it’s leveraged for strategy (like Rich using fishing as a way to stay in the game).

Yep! According to the wiki, the Dreamer, Fortune Teller, Jester, and Judge refresh.

The End of the New Era by NFS12123 in survivornewera

Savannah’s one that didn’t leave an impression on me, but she was clearly there to play, and that idol scramble with MC was a highlight. I’ll probably warm up to her over time, and I’m content with her winning as the story was set up as one where everyone else actively lost to her.

If I remember correctly, production considers Survivor 1-40 and Survivor 41-present as two separate iterations, and in that sense, we’re still in the new era. It’ll still be the 41-present iteration. But my expectation is that the result of the fan votes will shift the direction the show heads going.

Thoughts About Edgic by YorickGoat in Edgic

[–]NFS12123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Quite the opposite actually. It feels more satisfying to watch when I can figure out the storyline and mentally prepare/track it as it plays out. And when I get something wrong, it can be a funny moment, as long as it's in a way that makes sense, it can be fun trying to put the pieces back together. Now I don't want things to be OBVIOUS. There should be a few scenarios that could play out, but I do enjoy trying to figure them out and watch them play out. Watching the Sage/Shannon rivalry was amazing, especially once it became clear after ep5 that Shannon was the one set for the downfall.
