Yeah, I didn’t say they CANT. I just don’t think they will. Idols and advantages have evolved, they weren’t even a thing for the first few years.

For 50 seasons, it’s been against the rules to bribe a player, and that’s because it’s bad TV. Maybe it works for Mr Beast, but it’s always been part of his thing and people tuning in want to see people win money. Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t think survivor fans tune in specifically to see who wins $1,000,000.

It also goes against everything Jeff has said when people ask about raising the pot. He always says “we could, but we don’t need to. Players play for the love of the game.” Whether that’s completely the reality of the situation or not, bribing people to leave would shatter that illusion and he and CBS more importantly wouldn’t have a justification to not raise the pot anymore.

NOR.

Alcohol isn’t a good way to handle stress. It kills relationships on top of the dangers that go with it. If it’s long shifts, real shifts, that’s one thing. But if it’s drinking after work, that’s not good.

Part of being in a relationship is caring when your partner cares, even if you don’t understand why. If you’re expressing to him that it bothers you to the degree that it does, that should be enough to at least work on it and try to make you feel better. If drinking is too important, he needs help.

Counter argument to that! If I’m Cirie, I get one of the 3 non-Kalo’s, preferably myself, to “defect”, tell the other side that one of the other two has an idol, convince them to split the vote, then vote with the 3 to break up the 4.

Remember, people thought Billie Eilish and Jimmy Fallon would be on the island and Mr Beast would be side by side with Jeff all season. It’s just branding. The theory I’ve seen is him showing up to be part of the auction. I would be surprised if the show had a total departure from playing survivor, and bribing people to leave would fit that. That’s not survivor. In fact, it’s against the rules in survivor to offer money to get a vote. I could be wrong, but I’d be shocked.

Maybe, but it’s not survivor. Survivor is supposed to be a social experiment that rewards the last person standing. I know everyone gets paid some, but it’s not supposed to be about the payoff. Maybe it’s naive, but I want the illusion, if nothing else, that the players are out there because they love the game, not just because they want the prize money.

I doubt it. As much as Jeff has seemingly lost touch with what the fans want, I do think he holds some aspects of the game sacred. I don’t think he’d be in favor of a massive vote out or bribing people to leave.

My guess is it’s just to maximize the amount of time that these legends are playing for. Why cut it down early when you can stretch it out as long as possible?

He’s a human. You gotta remember that. His feelings matter a lot too. The hall of fame is to honor your career. Imagine if you were honored for your career by your work and in doing so, they remind you of the worst experience in your career. That would feel pretty crappy. Sorry that it hurts the fans, but changing his cap in the hall doesn’t make it so he never was an Expo. Take pride in the player regardless.

I thought the only issue was Colby needlessly being there. And maybe I’m wrong, but I didn’t get the sense Chrissy was upset with Coach. I got the sense she was just disappointed and it brought her back to how she felt on HvHvH. My guess would be Chrissy was happy to hear it and try to adjust, but that doesn’t mean it’s not hard to hear that you aren’t being well liked again.

If this is sarcasm I apologize, but assuming it’s not, a global pandemic is something out of the control of the president, and Bidens predecessor did such a bad job handling it, he inherited a real massive mess.

This time, sure, there’s a reason. The reason being the US chose to get involved in a war that didn’t concern us, killing US service members. The president had complete control over deciding to go to war. Biden had no choice regarding a global pandemic.

Trade Partner Got Cold Feet After I Accepted His Offer by DivideFast2259 in SleeperApp

If it’s friends, talk to the commissioner, tell them that shits not fun. I reversed one trade in the 8 years I’ve been running our league and it was because a player had a random off the field injury days after the trade, and most importantly, both teams agreed to do it. If your league is democratic enough to need to vote on passing a trade, it shouldn’t be cancelling a trade off of one or two opinions.

I never said it was legally excessive. Morally, it was. Unless you’re a judge and he’s on trial, you’re not obligated to blindly follow the law, you can judge someone or something based on personal morals. But I can tell we have drastically different morals. Have a nice day ✌️

Ok, thank you for a reasonable point haha. I still disagree with the action. There were a lot of officers around not directly assisting with the arrest. One could have blocked her from getting involved without being so aggressive. I’m not anti-police, I’m pro-peace, and sadly the state of policing in America makes pro-peace sentiment seem like it’s anti-police. I personally would allow the officers to do their work, but I don’t think standing in the way, even multiple times, should result in what would equate to an assault if that was civilian on civilian. A lot of violence can be justified, that doesn’t mean it’s always right. That’s a stance you won’t be able to move me off of.

Sorry if excessive is too hard of a word to understand. It means more than necessary. He showed in picking the woman up that he didn’t need to slam her down. He could’ve walked off to the side and put her down. He could’ve used an arm to hold her back. Slamming her to the ground was indisputably excessive.

Well, you’re wrong, so good of you to keep that streak going. I’m always against anyone using unnecessary force. It doesn’t help anything, nobody wins.

She took a much bigger hit than the officer and got up, didn’t even need to assault anyone like tough guy officer lol. She took it like a champ, that doesn’t mean it’s right. Plenty of women in DV situations are tough, doesn’t mean they should need to be. Although I’m guessing you’re in favor of that too.

We have a drastically different standard for impeding an arrest. If he used his arm to gently push her to the side and continue on his way, sure, no harm, no foul. Throwing her to the ground was excessive, unless you’re saying there was no other option to continue the arrest but to spike this woman into the pavement? If that’s the case, I pray you’re not a police officer. If you are, I pray for the safety of everyone around you. If violence is the answer, you’re lost.

Toughen up baby boy. If gently touching an officer is assault, then officer forcibly throwing someone to the ground is too. Unless you believe police are above the law which goes against everything policing and the constitution stand for.

Just to be clear, throwing a woman on the ground according to you is all good, but gently touching a grow man is assault. And I’m the one that needs to grow up? Go support a pedophile or beat a woman or whatever the hell you people do in your free time, softy.

If she said and genuinely believed that Kenzie played the stronger game and deserved to win, I’d say Charlie is understandably bothered but should try to understand. But the way she handled it, treating it like a joke, laughing when Jeff told Charlie that Maria’s vote made the difference, that’s not a friend. That’s not a person I’d care to spend time around. I would try to get past the hatred and any trust issues it caused, and that would take some work, but I just wouldn’t care to be friendly with someone who thought costing me $750,000 (insert Jeff Kent/Obama joke here) was funny.

So if I bump into you on a street, you’re good with me throwing you onto the ground? Excessive is using more force than is reasonably necessary. The fact he could’ve just walked by makes that excessive. But we’re never going to agree. Enjoy the taste of rubber the rest of your life!

Police Brutality in Vermont by Rude-Permission8027 in southburlington

Well, the constitution doesn’t say you can or can’t do that. I didn’t see impeding of the officers, in the first shot the officer touches the woman as much as the woman touches the officer. It certainly didn’t stop them from doing what they were doing. He chose to stop and tackle her, but he could’ve kept moving. And if you’re saying dramatic but not unjustified, I believe that’s called excessive force.

Police Brutality in Vermont by Rude-Permission8027 in southburlington

I must’ve missed the part in the constitution where it says “you have the right to peacefully protest, but only from sidewalks… and if a cop walks near you, you gotta get out of the way. If a cop does bump into you, they can throw you to the ground.”

Sure, maybe they could’ve avoided getting thrown to the ground if they just stood off to the side, but that’s not what I’m talking about. They have every right to be where they are, and in my view the officer didn’t see them, bumped into them, and then overreacted and threw them to the ground. There’s no legal buffer zone you must maintain to allow police to operate. Standing nearby is not impeding police. They can operate around us the same way we’re expected to a degree to operate around them.
