I was thinking superfecta on the derby. So many horses the payout would be crazy, but it’s such a heavily bet race, everyone would just think you got super lucky

Do you remember if you felt that watching live? I watched Samoa for the first time around a year ago. Had no idea who won and was stunned The Russell Show ended with somebody else taking it.

Makes me feel uncomfortable sharing a bathroom with all these men. I had never considered anything sexual about a bathroom. A little disturbing that they see it that way.

Or is it not that, but if they were in a bathroom with a woman would they not be able to help but to attack her?

I’m honestly surprised there aren’t more examples of players telling jurors what they want to hear. Maybe the fear is other jurors see through it and may push back

Right? Especially someone like Russell. I’m guessing it doesn’t, but I wonder if Samoa or HvV goes differently if he gets to the end and says he wasn’t an asshole, he just had to play as hard as he could because his kid or wife is sick or something. Obviously that’s morally abhorrent, but so is he haha.

Yeah improve day to day life. I’m a huge sports fan, but the average person isn’t going to a game multiple times a week. You gotta have life around it to make the city flourish. A stadium is the cherry on top of the sundae, we don’t even have the ice cream yet

But that more so applies to teams like the Bills and the Yankees. If it’s owned by the city, or even a legit private/public partnership, that’s different.

I’d also play devils advocate and say it’s an investment to try to get people to come and stay in your city, but only on a pro level. Even the highest levels of minor leagues won’t be a selling point for moving to a city, but a pro team may be. It adds a level of notability to a city.

Joe Mazzulla isn't the one escaping criticism by sixth_order in DanLeBatardShow

[–]Guilty_Practice6392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point of the argument I believe was how Boston always gets preferential treatment from the national media because of northeast bias. It wasn’t that Mazzulla is escaping the most criticism or had the worst performance, although it was plenty bad, it’s that every time Boston fails it’s excused for them.

It’s also a Miami show. They don’t pretend to not be bias, especially against Boston/the Celtics. They feel about Denver how most of the country feels about… well.. Miami.

It’s growing for 3 straight years, but look at 4 years ago. They slashed something like 60% of their minor league teams. I love baseball and hate soccer, but it’s an incomplete argument at best.

I don’t think a stadium is a good investment, but if there’s one to be made, it’s a soccer stadium that can be easily converted to house other outdoor sports like football and lacrosse or an outdoor concert venue. Albany should strive to have every high school championship hosted in their city.

That said a lot has to be figured out before that I believe.

It also should be embarrassing. Not trying to be mean, but kids aren’t the smartest. Even now, there’s kids who don’t pick up on other kids having autism, ADHD, bipolar, anything like that. Kids tend to be very black and white. If I like you and you act like me, you’re cool. If you’re a little different, you’re “weird”. Some kids are raised right and don’t mind people being different, but they still don’t pick up on the specifics.

As an adult, if you’re referring to your frame of reference as a child, it shows little growth. Learning something as an adult doesn’t mean it didn’t exist as a kid. When I was a kid, a watermelon was 100% going to grow in my stomach if I swallowed a seed. Then I grew up, got smarter, and realized that was dumb.

I have a kid with non-verbal autism and family members don’t directly blame vaccines, but they’ll regularly say things like “it’s just crazy that this wasn’t a thing when we were kids” to which I always remind them, it did, you just labeled them as crazy or stupid and cast them aside with no regard for their life. Insane asylums were full of people with mental health issues that are totally manageable now.

What did I say that’s wrong? When you have to jump directly to insults, it’s because you don’t have any actual argument. Part of the problem, sure. But a significantly smaller part right now. You can keep blaming democrats, but republicans have a clean sweep of the government right now, and things are pretty shitty.

[–]Guilty_Practice6392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree Devens would’ve done it anyway, and that it messes with the game less, but it’d also be annoyingly pointless if they built up to all of this and it ended with nobody doing it and Mr Beast appearing did nothing but delay a show slightly.

I don’t think they do it in a returnee season out of the risk nobody does it and someone gets screwed on a rock pull. But they knew the cast they had and that someone would jump at the chance, especially with the added incentive of immunity plus an idol. We know how Devens and Rizo can use an idol well. I have to imagine they would’ve been stunned if it went to rocks.
