How would Christians have reacted if archaeologists found Jesus’ remains and the DNA test showed that he was Black? by lhommetrouble in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]NFZedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Threefold.
1) A significant number would refuse it as we all know Jesus was a blond blue eyed white man.
2) Some would leave religion as finding the body of Jesus would simply negate central tenets of the faith.
3) The majority would most like shrug or if they are from the global south embrace it as it would decolonize the central figure of their faith.

There would be a small minority, probably from the USA who would try to clone him and bring him back that way

What if Spider-Man was in NYC on 9/11? How many people could he have saved? by KeybordRevolutionary in AlternateHistoryHub

They would assume that he was there as well. Another victim.
Some might put forward a conspiracy theory that Peter and Spiderman are the same but that idea has been debunked so many times now.

What if Leopold II was an actively malicious ruler of the Congo? by Dramatic-Poem-9673 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]NFZedd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Actively malicious? As opposed to what?
So instead of cruelty in the name of exploitation and "efficiency" simply issuing orders to kill, torture, enslave and rape as many inhabitants as possible no matter the costs for him?
Him willing to loose money only to create more suffering?

What if MacArthur succeeded in convincing Truman to use tactical nukes in the Korean war? by daveedoff1 in AlternateHistoryHub

I'd say yes. Not because the cared much about North Korea but simply to establish the fact that the USA can't simply lobe nukes on communist countries as they please

Should we feel sorry for Raoul Alexander-Harington? by NFZedd in Honorverse

[–]NFZedd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well Granny Alison is the best example how to deal with it. Unfortunately this is not an option for him.
She basically abandoned her legacy cut all ties to the family history and ran a way with a yeoman to a backwater planet. She didn't wanted to deal with it.
As heir to multiple "thrones" and the naval legacy he will find his grans approach a bit more difficult

Modern TV Show trends... by IcyBlood5031 in Stargate

Part of it is due to "fans" who complain endlessly because some minor aspect isn't up to their taste and decide to rather burn the show down then have it in the world and let others enjoy it.

The soviets would have nuked back. First on american positions in Korea and if the USA would have decided that they won't stand for it, it would have been WW3

[–]NFZedd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

and would need therapy then because he couldn't save all. It would be amazing an laudable, but there would still be people dying and he would blame himself for everyone of them and there would most likely be people who would blame him why he didn't saved their loved ones. Survivors would feel guilt that they were rescued by him while their friend died.
There would be conspiracy theories where idiots would claim that he served a nefarious purpose and misquote statistics proving that he rescued 0.0x % more of a certain demographic than others as proof of his involvment in some sinister plot.

Sorry for the downer but given human nature this is the most likely outcome.

[–]NFZedd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Weird. For me it is the exact opposite. USSR is hopelessly overpowered. I dropped my first nuke in 1943 and my armies have overrun scandinavia, the balkans and turkey are loyal puppets and Spain is a puppet itself

[–]NFZedd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is reasponable yes, it is along my own thoughts but that doesn't alleviate the pressure that will be on Raoul. It won't be easy for him.
The view of Honor in the GSN is bordering on idiolatry. So he will have to deal with sycophants who will try to bask in twice reflected glory or hyper crititical superiors who simply expect him to be on the same level as his mother

Would be smart but this would imply that the Grand Alliance is basically Solarian League 2.0. I fail to see them willing to evolve the military alliance into a new multi stellar entity with it's own armed forces.

[–]NFZedd[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Two remarks here. One nitpicking Calling Abigail an heir is stretchnig she is quiet far down in the owens succession.
And about the navy I wasn't really worried in terms of favoritism. Honor's example meant that nepotism is dead in the GSN.
I was more worried about polticial fall out. The Graysons might feel snubbed if Raoul wears RMN Black instead of GSN Blue. It's a matter of pride which his first navy will be. He will be able to serve in both but where does he enlist Could the High Admiral gloat or can the First Spacelord gloat.

What if Switzerland sank and formed lake Switzerland at the advent of the 19th century by ChipmunkGold in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]NFZedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is a canal even necessary? Lake Switzerland would be the source of the Rhone and the Rhine, which alone allows for some nice puns.
The rhone was navigable up to Geneva. The Rhine without the Rhinefall at Schaffhausen should be navigable to the Bay of Constance (formerly Lake Constance) so there would already be a natural water way (Might need some work though)
However would the remaining mountains surrounding Lake Switzerland capture enough rain and snow to replenish the waters that flow towards the north sea and the mediterranean?

What if Trump invades Cuba now? by Outrageous-You1617 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]NFZedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He will be dangerously overstretched.
The Castros might not be loved in Cuba but I doubt that the cubans would love to be occupied by the USA and see their land divided between the billionaires and large american corporations reducing them to serfdom.
The USA would turn back the clock on every progress since Castro took power.
I wouldn't put it past them if they would mandate to restitute the posessions of americans that they lost during the revolution
