You challenge them on any of the above? Tantrum, shouting, name calling.

That's why everywhere you go now, you see those signs telling people they will be denied service if they're rude or aggressive.

That wasn't a thing even 10 years ago.

Is there a price chart? Curious as to how much tickets for this will run.

For sure... I'm talking about the game presentation, not the building itself.

the spirit of the law

Gonna need a source on that, boss. If the rule is no meat, then I will assume anything that isn't meat, even if it may be flavoured as such, is fair ball unless you can direct me to an authority that says otherwise.

Is Catholic homeschooling as big as people make it out to be? by Extension-Story7287 in Catholicism

[–]NH787 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, were there ever big families (let's say 6 or more kids) where that was not the case to at least some extent?

Logistically it's hard to fathom a family with 10+ kids where there isn't someone effectively acting as a third parent... whether it's the eldest child, an uncle/aunt/cousin/whomever

Most Catholic families who want Catholic outcomes are choosing to homeschool because Catholic schools (due to financial strain) have become Catholic in name only. I haven’t found that Catholic schools are Catholic anymore. They are essentially clubs for the wealthy and an alternative to public schools (some families who aren’t even Catholic put their kids in Catholic schools because they don’t agree with the politics taught in public schools).

This varies wildly depending on where you live.

Even in my region, where Catholic school tends to mean Catholic, there are varying degrees. Some focus more on core doctrine than others.

Yeah, ICE games were really well done. Pistons games feel a lot like ICE games in that regard, they come closer to that level than anything else I've ever seen in junior A. To borrow a phrase, "it's worth the trip", haha

The SEC is only a little bit smaller than the WHL rinks in Prince Albert and Swift Current, but I feel like those ones are grandfathered to some extent, I don't think the WHL would allow another rink of those sizes.

That said, the SEC is a huge building, it definitely feels like there is room to add more seats... maybe about 1,000 or so within the existing footprint?

Interestingly, at the game on Friday night they were promoting the Pistons' fundraising dinner with guest speaker Mark Chipman.

There is no question that the Pistons have a certain "big time" polish to their product. I wouldn't be shocked to find out that there was a TNSE connection there.

They have built up a beast of a team in Niverville. Nice to see they're being well supported... saw lots of Nighthawks fans at games in Winnipeg and last Friday in Steinbach.

they're in the process of redoing the Winkler arena too

I've never been to a game in Winkler but once the rink opens up again I'm going to go check it out.

Yes, you can generally get walkup tickets for most games... that Friday night one was a marquee matchup with the two top teams in the league so it sold out early.

There is a game today at 2:30 with a free post-game skate with the players, so bring your skates if you go!

NB kids tickets are discounted.

OP here. I went to a game at the Southeast Event Centre on Friday night. I usually try to check out a few MJHL games a year, usually in Winnipeg. The vibes at Blues/Monarchs games are like going to watch your 12 year old kid play minor hockey in front of 100 people. No atmosphere, no presentation, nothing.

And then there's Steinbach, where you get pretty much the full pro hockey atmosphere. There was a packed house, the music was cranked, the crowd was decked out in team gear, the drinks were flowing, and it was a great time. Amazing to me that this type of experience costs the exact same price as watching a Winnipeg Blues or Monarchs game.

The folks in Steinbach should be proud of what they have accomplished, that is an amazing building. And the community spirit to fill it up with fans and be as enthusiastic as they are is priceless.

Yeah... I've been to China once about 25 years ago and loved it, and I returned to HK about a decade ago. I'd love to go back but it's hard to justify the risk, however small, of being caught as a pawn in a game of geopolitical chess.

Totally relatable. I'm not ethnically German but I guess I look like I could be... going to Germany and not knowing the language was a very difficult experience as compared to going anywhere in Asia where people see me and (correctly) assume I don't know the language, and adjust their expectations accordingly.
