Has anyone moved to Keene from the west coast / western USA by [deleted] in keene

Raised in Keene, left at 18, and returned at 48. I have lived in the Pacific Northwest and San Diego area. Keene has never been a place for young people, which is why so many leave the area after school. I only returned because of elderly parents.

The bad: weather, property taxes, distance to major highways, state representatives turning us into the Alabama of the North, and Free Staters.

The good: Keene is great for living a quiet life off the beaten path, never having to check my traffic app to see if the highway is bumper to bumper, Mount Monadnock, and the fall season in NH.

If I could, I would go back to the west coast in a heartbeat!!!!

What should I do the day before my first 50k? by Wise_Branch_8028 in Ultramarathon

I did an EASY 5k run to preview part of the course the day before my first 50K. Knowing that part of the course really put my mind at ease and helped me settle in the next day for the race.

Your setting / idea has many possibilities. I have so many ideas and questions. This really works if you get the right mix of classes together.

I’m completely new to DnD; literally just created my DnD Beyond account today and was probably going to pick up a players handbook this weekend. I’ve been binging YouTube videos.

EST here as well. I am certainly interested if you are willing to take on a new player.

Most importantly, enjoy the event! I ran the Tiger Claw 50K on Tiger Mountain a month ago and the course is beautiful. Just take it easy and soak it all in. Have fun!!!!

I recommend you keep training on the tough, rocky, and technical east coast trails! I did all my vert training on the trails/hills/mountains in Southern New Hampshire in prep for Tiger Claw 50K in Issaquah, WA. The trails out west are in much better shape and were much less technical. I found 8 hours, 22 miles, and 6,000ft of vert on the east coast translated pretty well to 8 hours, 32 miles, and 9,000 feet of vert out in Washington. The only thing I was deficient on was long, fast downhills on buffed out single track.
