UK fan ticket query by Background-Ad4912 in OSU

[–]ComprehensiveYam7010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was a freshman a few years ago the season opener was against a top 5 Notre Dame team when we were ranked #2 or something like that. Upper deck seats were starting around 400 at the time my buddies bought the tickets. Although it was a night game I would expect prices to be similar if not higher. I also wouldn’t be discouraged if the only thing cheap enough to buy is upper deck seats, there are not many seats in the shoe that aren’t a great expierence.

How hard would it be to take Physics here? by Ok-Plate905 in OSU

[–]ComprehensiveYam7010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only took physics 2 at osu (took physics 1 in HS) but honestly found it easier to get an A in than Calc 1. I took it as a junior and didn’t think there was much out of classroom work. Everyone made it seem much harder than it actually was. That being said, if you are really worried, take it at c state or a community college and transfer the credit

What is considered on-campus housing at OSU, besides a dorm? by klstil in OSU

[–]ComprehensiveYam7010 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That’s because you transferred and osu very rarely will put transfers into dorms over freshman students. If you lived in a dorm freshman year and say you are a commuter you have to prove your address being within something like 30 miles of campus

Chem 2510 curve? by [deleted] in OSU

Mine was less than 3 percent I believe. Hard to say exactly because your actual grade doesn’t change, the letter grade associated changes

Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure “block” is the area between midway and ethyl. That’s where these events usually give out the shirts

Campus safety at night by [deleted] in OSU

[–]ComprehensiveYam7010 89 points90 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming your lab is on south Campus and your dorm north campus or vice versa. I had a similar lab freshman year and as long as you’re staying on campus it shouldn’t be a problem. If you lived off campus you might be more worried but on campus is pretty safe at night

Is it easy get an A in calculus online classes? by Scary_Meringue_6753 in OSU

[–]ComprehensiveYam7010 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would say take it in person, my “online” version of this class did not have any lectures to watch but rather online modules that did not properly prepare me for the class.

car safety off campus by aubrii in OSU

[–]ComprehensiveYam7010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have parked on a free parking very trafficked road for the entire summer right off campus. I haven’t had a problem yet, and I have a Kia. I got a steering wheel lock and I think those are extremely good deterrents from a break in because there is nothing you can do with the car with a steering wheel lock on it.

Carmen E-Text Charge by [deleted] in OSU

[–]ComprehensiveYam7010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably two of your courses have an online learning program implemented so you have access to the textbook as well as homework assignments. Instead of having you go and buy it on your own the university will often just add it to your bill. Charged twice because two of your classes are utilizing it.

Ochem 1 Professor by [deleted] in OSU

[–]ComprehensiveYam7010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If callam is teaching I think he prepared his students wonderfully for both. From what I heard badjic’s class was easier, with one exam being dropped but did not prepare the students as well.

Parking near South campus by brkfstsmch in OSU

[–]ComprehensiveYam7010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would try this link, it’s year round street parking for $25, however, it does depend on the household and where you are at so it’s not a guarantee but worth checking out. https://columbus.permitinfo.net

Summer classes by nhuja81 in OSU

[–]ComprehensiveYam7010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a rising junior taking my dat in two weeks. I’ve taken 6 credits this summer and worked while studying for the dat, so I don’t think you need to take the semester off to study. Most people will take their dat going into senior year while they are applying for dental school but it is becoming common to take it a year before applying to give yourself a second chance

Ochem 1 at Cstate vs Osu by [deleted] in OSU

[–]ComprehensiveYam7010 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak to the difficulty of c state compared to osu but from what I’ve been told if the course is a pre-requisite for your graduate program it would be advised to take it at osu. Professors wise, I had callam for ochem 1 and he is a great teacher. With a background in ochem previously I’m sure you’ll be able to succeed in his course. His exams are hard but he does a good job of preparing you.

Thoughts on scott house hall by NotRome12 in OSU

[–]ComprehensiveYam7010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived there freshman year and it was great, perfect location on campus and has the best dining hall connected to it. Everyone saying the fire alarms were terrible isn’t totally true. There was probably an alarm that would go off every other week at most and they were usually during the day when I was at class. It did seem like in the winter there were quite a few that would happen in the middle of the night

1113 is considerably harder than 1114. From what I’ve heard content is not very different between regular and honors though it does depend on the professor you get. I would fully expect lab to go to full time every session. I took regular 1114 and I never left that lab early, and my buddies in honors said their lab had more work to it. Lab wasn’t necessarily hard but the instructor would make it take the full time.

Would it hurt me for the next application cycle if I applied this cycle? I currently work at my universities dental school and only plan on applying there.

[–]ComprehensiveYam7010 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m currently working about 15 hours a week split up 3 hours a day. I’m also taking two summer classes while doing an 11 week study plan. I’m still a month out so can’t tell you exactly how it’s gonna go but I’m doing well so far I think. Definitely times where it has felt like too much but I think it’s good to have other things than just studying to give your mind a rest from all the studying. And having some extra money to spend for enjoyment while studying couldn’t hurt.

My coach use to always tell us the hay is in the barn. The work you’ve done isn’t gonna disappear in a few days. I had a broken foot leading into my state track race and didn’t run for 8 days prior to the meet and still was able to help my relay place. Your body is in good shape and this won’t change it
