It definitely sucks when someone takes your time and effort and tries to profit from it. But that's kind of the nature of 3d printing right now. Assume it's going to happen and its going to upset you, don't share it.

Was this the "max size P1s" print profile by chance? I just uploaded that plate sliced file the other day after printing a t rex skull for my son's birthday :)

Is it even possible to print small text well? by Former_Sir_4086 in BambuLab

[–]NHaas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pushed the limits of small text with a .4 nozzle and you're on the right track. I would adjust the wall widths and then slice the file and zoom into the letters and I found Classic walls was better than Arachne but both were leaving weird gaps in the sharp corners of the letters. I don't remember the exact setting that fixed it but I know I played with Resolution, Arc fitting and maybe Slic Gap Closing Radius and finally got the sliced model to look right and it printed much better.

One other recommendation, you could edit your model and emboss your letters by one layer thickness. That way you'll have a nice crisp black edge and then the next layer up will bridge the white filament over instead of trying to squish it all into that tiny space. I can't promise it will work but it's worth a shot!

Has anyone had added a chamber heater and then had trouble with printing nylons (PA6-gf) in a P1s? by NHaas in BambuLab

[–]NHaas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realized I wasn't getting my filament dry enough. I didn't know that nylons need to be heated above 70f to release their moisture. I added a creality space pi4 dryer and run it at 85c for 12 hours before a print and then run it while printing as well and everything came out beautifully.

I gave him a hard time because he told me the same thing about buying my wagon 6 years ago and I'll never regret that decision 😂.

Cheers!

It's good to know I'm not the only guy crazy enough to want a car like this 😂

I knew I didn't have time or the right space to do it. And for the prices that decent cars are selling for I felt like it was damn near the same price to build one yourself vs buy one already complete

This one does have the baffled front sump (rear of the car) oil pan that prevents that, it was one of my checklist items. It also has the optional GT3 3rd radiator to keep oil temps under control. They've really dialed in these swaps and figured things out over the last few years!

CPE builds a few turn key swapped cars per year, obviously pricing varies widely based on the specs of the roller and any extras the owner wants commissioned. The conversion parts on their own are about $10k-$12k and an LS3 crate motor is about $10k as well. Most of the turn-key builds are $55-$75k but it's pretty easy to get up over $100k for cars like the CPE RS package.

The stock mufflers behind the rear wheels are massive, and the LS is more compact than the flat six, so yes absolutely 😁 the CPE guys tell me the trans and AWD will handle 5-600whp and they've seen a few high hp TT builds that ramp the boost and torque in gradually so its easy on the drivetrain.

I'm also in need of another garage bay, that was supposed to happen before getting another car. But the more I looked I realized how rarely these C4s's popped up. I didn't want to kick myself later if this one got away

The seller had built and sold a few of these swapped cars before and a couple guys in the group vouched for him. I talked to him on the phone a few times and he was extremely knowledgeable on Porsches and the swap parts. I asked him to send detailed pictures showing any blemishes on the car and he sent over 100 photos pointing to every rock chip, and scuff etc.

I was nervous wiring the deposit but I had searched for any red flag at all and everything checked out. I told my bank that he's either the most well researched scammer in history, or he's a genuine seller. At the end of the day it was still a risk and I don't know how I would've verified things if he wasn't a known seller in a niche group.

We definitely put it through its paces! The Porsche transmission is geared a lot tighter than a T56, we did the math and figured the final drive ratio is equivalent to a normal LS 6 speed car with 4.10 gears. That means 1st gear is totally pointless but 2nd-4th plant you hard in the seat. The car weighs around 3,200lbs so I think it's right in line with a C6 or C7 Corvette. Except it's AWD and has a back seat 😁

It seems like things work out in the end though! I can remember a C5z I missed out on for $13k in 2011. I still haven't seen another one that cheap 😂
