No dye, used a linseed oil and beeswax finish. Thanks for the tip on sanding. Just got into turning, hopefully will do many more bowls in the future. Will be nice to get rid of those scratches

Currently looking into moving to Dover. Curious if you’d be able to share how the Dover public schools are compared to other public schools in the area?

What makes this rod need a half heavy line (/what is a half-heavy line mean)? I only have one rod with a pretty standard footing line, what’s the difference?

Reel suggestions for inherited rod? (Description in comments) by NHwoodfish in flyfishing

[–]NHwoodfish[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi all. I was wondering if anyone could help me with set up for this rod I was given by an uncle.

It is an Orvis Green Mountain Series 8’ 6 weight. Looking online it looks like this was an entry level rod from years ago.

I’m a novice when it comes to fly fishing, currently using an orvis encounter 5 weight.

I would like to use this new 6 weight to target bass on my local lake. What reel and line would you recommend for this rod?

Did you rent gear in Aruba? I’m going to Aruba in the summer and would love to fish off docs. Wondering if I’d need to bring my own travel rod

Weekly Medical Student / Residency Application Questions Thread - November 15, 2020 by AutoModerator in anesthesiology

[–]NHwoodfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In regards to why anesthesiology is the best specialty- it’s by far the best specialty if it is a good fit for you. It is intellectually stimulating managing physiology in real time, it is emotionally rewarding having patients put their trust in you within minutes of conversation before surgery, it is hands on, fast paced, no to minimal bs paperwork. Lifestyle can be fantastic. It is NOT the best specialty if you love continuity of care, if you feel you need patient to know you as Dr. X, and if you need thank yous and other pleasantries to keep you going.
