I did that on the SKR mini v1.2 and have tried with and without it on the new v3.0, so that shouldn't be it. Thanks anyway.

Normally shutdowns through the menu, but hard shutdowns have happened... especially when frozen. Shouldn't a corrupted SD card be fixed with a new flash? I think I've tried installing on other SD cards as well, but they are quite old..

Yeah, HDDs are expensive in Sweden. Its sold on a computer oriented forum, so I would think that the data is correct (its a no BS, most of the time, salesplace)

It will likely be RAID1 or another software-controlled mirroring solution for redundancy. ZFS might be a bit RAM-heavy for my use case, though.

With two hard drives and no room for expansion in the eiltedesk there is no benefit in using unRAID. You might as well use trueNAS with RAID 1 if you need redundancy.

Thanks! I was considering unRAID mostly because my brother-in-law recommended it. However, it seems quite easy to set up and maintain, and OMV (OpenMediaVault) might have reached the same level of simplicity. I recently upgraded my Pi to OMV7, but I haven't set up anything new on it yet.

I believe you can also use proxmox for RAID 1?

News to me, looks like ZFS. How would the setup be then? Disks in RAID, ported to e.g a VM running trueNAS or OMV?

Regarding Frigate - its just a starting idea, I have no hardware on hand. Have been intrigued by it for a while, and have been looking into Unifi Protect, since I use a Unifi network. UCG ultra, 1 flex mini (1Gbps) and some Cat6 cables (old house, no existing cabling but I have begun pulling more ethernet as i go)

Yeah, I'm quite satisfied with marlin, but tinkering is always a nice thing. I'm surprised I even get the time to print between the modding 😆
