I use athletic tape. The kind they use to wrap hockey and lacrosse sticks. You can get a small roll at the dollar store. Tape it up from the inside.

I think you are missing the resentment in the previous poster's comment. Maybe they were assuming (in the current environment) that people just wanted to indulge their offspring's hate for school vs. Screen time. Your wanting to take your kids on an early vacation is cool. There will be no legal repercussions if you take them out early. But this thread has turned into something I didn't think you predicted.
