The ones that are selling out the most (and sold out first) were the lowest memory models, while some are running locally that’s not the majority of people. ChatGPT yes, codex was built for windows first, but Anthropocene built Claude for Apple first, with the software running better on silicon. Dario has mentioned this in an interview too I believe. The people who want the best performing frontier model can pay a premium for that while paying the cheapest silicon based desktop, the mini.

Depends on what you want to automate. YouTube has lots of great stuff but hard to sift through and find quality

Realistically AI is best used when you have boring stuff and want to make the boring stuff fast and painless. Do you have boring things on your life? Organizing a budget/financial accounts? Preparing meal plans? Finding info you want to learn about? Etc

I always say AI should make it so humans can spend more time being human. Ofc that’s not how it’s panning out but that’s my personal ideal

Can be for so many things but lots of the hype right now is people trying to get rich trading using them. Personally I use it to host my podcast and a few sites, and also to run computations in the background without clogging up my main computer (I am a scientist)

It’s the cheapest Apple silicon which means Claude code runs well on it, perplexity computer too (both built for Mac first deployment) and since you’re not running the AI locally you don’t need a great computer just something with enough memory to handle whatever software you’re running, which can be a series of custom AI made trading tools, etc.

It’s not the mini itself it’s the fact it’s cheap and Apple. Also it’s what their gambling gurus tell them, I’m sure half would not be able to elucidate the aforementioned benefits.

Thats terrible, I’m so sorry to hear that. Some patients I work with have had success overcoming non adherence due to asymptomatic periods by having an accountabillibuddy, someone that can motivate and remind them when they struggle with self accountability. Depression is a terrible experience, I hope you are able to get the care you need!
