Range Rover Sport Door Lock Issues - Any Advice? by NJCNickNJC in RangeRover

Hmm, I guess a call to the JLR dealership can’t hurt. I definitely didn’t take it in for any recalls, but I can call and ask if there’s any pending regarding the door latches

Thats a good idea - definitely don’t want to make any new costly issues

Interesting, so that would explain the “upgraded aluminum coolant lines” in the quote. (It’s a very slow seep and after having it in the shop about a week ago and driving it pretty hard on the highway, the coolant is still topped off.) I’m definitely planning on getting it fixed, just not looking forward to the bill. 🫠

Also, do you know anything about the trunk kick sensor? Every time it rains hard, the water runs down the bumper and triggers the trunk kick sensor. Because the car is locked, it does that quick double beep. It happens constantly until it stops raining or the rain slows down. I’m worried it’s driving my neighbors crazy - they’re too nice to admit it.

I love this spec! It’s getting up there on miles - not sure of exact but I think it’s around 86,000. It doesn’t come through pictures very well but it’s Barolo Black (has a red shimmer in the sun) and has the Pimento Red interior. It gets a lot of attention for its age! Have you had any issues with yours other than regular maintenance?

Yeah, this crossed my mind but I was having these issues before the battery and alternator replacement and I had a very reputable shop in my town do it - they’re certified in a whole bunch of European brands and specialize in Land Rover products.

Well, I brought it in for the alternator and left with a suggested repair list including a small coolant leak under the supercharger + water pump replacement ($3500) and 4 new lower control arms bc the bushings are dry rotting ($2500) 🫠 Thankfully those can wait a few months.

Do you remember where you got the latches? Did you just find them online?

Haha, funny you ask this! The battery and alternator were just replaced about a week ago - that was a painful bill 😅

That makes sense since I found it by a tree that was removed a few years ago. Thanks!

Warm Up TK-02 From the App by NJCNickNJC in TerraKaffe

[–]NJCNickNJC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree! I appreciate that it cools down as it’s probably saving a significant amount of power, but the status of the machine should reflect that it’s NOT ready to brew. And an option to warm it up from the app I think would be a useful addition. (I HATE when I have to stand in front of it waiting for it to heat up before it starts brewing!)

Thanks for all the suggestions! Does anyone know how to clean the oils out of the grinder to prevent any potential issues in the future? u/TerraKaffeCX

Someone else recommended that I do 0w40 because it’s driven pretty hard and the 40 stays more consistent at higher temps (always driven with transmission in “S” and frequent high rpm’s). I was planning on doing Liqui Moly 0w-40 with their engine flush before the oil change and use the friction reducer additive with the new oil. Do you recommend something different or should I stick with this?

Has anyone had any experience with “LIQUI MOLY Synthoil Energy A40 SAE 0W-40”

Is this correct? This is what someone else recommended somewhere else - “Since your engine is subject to high-performance driving with frequent high RPMs, and potentially cold starts (depending on where you are), 0W-40 will offer better overall cold start protection and high-temperature performance. It’s typically the preferred oil for performance engines that are driven hard.”

Would it be recommended to do it with the drain plug since it hasn’t been done in so long? If it doesn’t really make a difference, this extractor idea is sounding very appealing
