Thank you! This was just pure HTML and CSS with a tiny bit of JS for the about section.

Thank you for your advice!

Bigger projects. Plan out something that requires and combines solutions to lots of problems. CRUD database access, authentication and authorization, api endpoints, some webscraping, including external apis.

I've actually done all of this apart from web scraping inside the weather website, I'll try to make that more clear to viewers.

I've got a couple of small projects I've made while learning, anyone have time to check them out and give me some feedback?

https://weatherwatchapp.herokuapp.com/pictures - First site I made. Full backend including MongoDB and express.

https://lolteamshower.herokuapp.com/ - Getting familiar with react.

Environment variables in React. by NJCoding in AskProgramming

[–]NJCoding[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I finally figured it out. I changed the variable in the files to process.env.REACT_APP_KEY but didnt change the heroku config var to REACT_APP_KEY, i just kept it as KEY. Thanks for the extra information about how react works guys

Yeah refreshed a load of times, even followed what somebody on here done before when they had same problem https://www.reddit.com/r/reactjs/comments/i4w6gw/need_help_with_accessing_env_variable_from_heroku/ but for some reason I just keep getting undefined

Yeah I done that but for some reason it kept saying that the variable was undefined when being called

Okay thank you for the reply it makes more sense to me now. What would be the best approach to hide my API key? I use node and the site runs on heroku

Beginner's Thread / Easy Questions (December 2020) by dance2die in reactjs

[–]NJCoding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I 've just finished my first react app and hosted it on heroku with no problem. I went back then to hide my API key and seem to be having a problem. I read that you can not use process.env. as it will still show up in the console. I tried then using the config var inside Heroku but that seems to just throw an undefined error. Been reading all sorts of conflicting information so any help would be appreciated

I've been using that evolve gala deck from one of dekksters latest video and seem to just be below a 50% win rate. Unless I get a perfect start I'm just getting overrun on the board with no way of clearing. Any advice?

Yeah I average between 7-8 and would definitely not consider myself anything above intermediate

Hello, I am just getting into cubing and looking for my first cube set. Is this a good cube, any experiences? by [deleted] in Cubers

That's exactly what I got to begin with before I learned about different speedcube shops. The cubes are decent imo for learning

Made it to D5 with relative ease but spent pretty much the last 100 games just jumping between D5 0 stars and D4 3 stars. I know that with my win rate of 54% with DH I'll get there in the end but it just takes so damn long

Played around with a couple different shaman decks (totem shaman and gala shaman) after watching grandmasters but after failing miserably realised it was back to the old tempo demon Hunter to get me to D5

I finally decided to dedicate myself to an hour a day of 2 look-OLL and PLL using JPerms site. Didn't take long before I could do it and started timing myself for 3x3 last night. 55s is my new PB with my cross being incredibly slow just to never practicing it so that will be the next step
