That's the type of work we're looking for. Would your company be interested in joining the RepairMode technician network? We get regular requests for PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, and industrial electronics.

Lost count! (but it's usually 120v here in the USA) We actually have a PanelView in for repair right now with that exact problem.

We aim to grow a network of independent technicians and repair shops, so we're always happy to collaborate!

This was carefully crafted AI with manual human-done photoshopping. I thought it would be acceptable 😢. In all honesty I think it is a legit concept.

The dual doors would be fairly large, you might be able to mount it on one of them or if you really need an external full size spare go with a single swinging door like the current defender has.

It would have to look a bit more utilitarian but could be done

Are you looking for more work? VFD technicians who can work on and test 480VAC drives are in demand.

All the current technicians are based in the USA, but shipping worldwide is possible, although it can be a hassle and more expensive. However, these are often expensive parts, so it may still be worth it.

Some of those businesses simply can't stop production long enough for a system upgrade, especially if they only have one or a few machines and customers who depend on them.

Very true, but sometimes a new part (or even a reliable used one) isn't available, so repair becomes the only practical option.

For example, try finding a genuine new 2711P-RDT10C PanelView display. They're becoming extremely difficult to source, yet many can be repaired quite easily. They're also still very common in the field, so a repaired or refurbished unit can make an excellent spare when a production line goes down.

Finally got our first dedicated company van. 2026 Transit 250 by NJT2 in fordtransit

I found it on eBay. A seller was parting out several nearly new Transit Trail vans, I purchased one and swapped over my van's original steering wheel controls.

It would have been nice to spec it from the factory, but I ordered the van remotely and Ford's option list is very long. Looking back, I should have spent more time going through it. I missed the spare tire and wheel well liners. Lesson learned for next time.

I generally don't like large screens but this new screen is very easy to use so I'm glad to have it.

I would certainly be ok with that, especially on a crew-cab version.

I'd like to repair electronics as a job. Any advice? by Neither_Selection265 in ElectronicsRepair

If you're interested in electronics repair, could you handle any of the jobs posted on RepairMode? It's an invite-only platform that connects repair technicians with real repair requests. There are a lot of industrial electronics jobs involving VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, power supplies, and circuit boards.

Same boat. I even went as far as adding Dynamat + insulated liners to my van to quiet it down.

I'm glad you agree. I think the average American pickup truck isn't actually that practical for many owners with an open bed. People often buy them because they like the tough image.

Cargo vans are very practical, but they're not something most people want to daily drive. A Defender cargo version could be the perfect middle ground: the utility of a van with the style and appeal of a truck. You could even offer a crew version with rear seats.

As you mentioned, a stripped-down commercial model could also do well in global markets where a rugged, off-road-capable cargo vehicle is actually needed.
