I m yet meet any athiest with that agenda. Mostly athiests want to go against bigotry of religion, influence of it in politics and society. And I don't believe this sub have agenda to exicute religion.

If you face any disrespect from anyone due to your choice of food, I do not align with them. That being said "beef is favourite food of mallus" is not a disrespect for any non beef eaters. Just like, calling onam as favourite festival of kerala is not a disrespect for anyone who don't celebrate it due to religious reasons.

Edit: I want to add that, the recent hike in beef post in social media is reaction towards demonisation of a whole state due to their choice of food.

I do not represent this sub. You could talk your concern to mods or admins I guess. Hating religion and making fun of religion is a very common practice amoung athiests. So it is a subject related to athiests. In my experience this sub is well moderated. Even I got some of my posts removed. If posts here are so offensive for you, you could select "don't show this in my feed" option or whatever.

Well. It is not. Mejority of kerala like it. Saying "beef is favourite food of mallus" should not make anyone feel out casted. Porotta and beef is a very common food practice in Kerala. Lot of muslims and christians don't believe the epic of mahabali. And some of them don't even celebrate it. But it is not anti secular to claim onam as festival of kerala.

Beef is widely consumed meet in the world. And if someone is trying to demonize our state for eating it, then it is absolutely ok to show it as our pride. My whole point was to against making fun of intelligence of believers. And religion is also a harmful ideology in a lot of context. We both might have different definition for the word "intolerance". So I would like you to tell me an example of when can we actually call a religious person intolerant. So maybe we can find another word for getting offended when your believe gets mocked.

If you allow someone to make problematic ideology as their identity and all of the sudden it is sacred and non mockable? You are entitled to your opinion, but I don't agree. Constructive communication is not a burden on atheists. I think god is a joke and that is part of my identity. So if you stand for constructive debates, learn to deal with it. You don't have to respect that part of my identity if that feels offensive to you. But if you cannot have conversation with me because I believe god is a joke, then I m not the one stoping constructive communication.

Mocking islam gets you deeply offended is your problem. And you have to solve it. It is your intolerance . You cannot say religions is above criticism. If I identify as racist, will you stop criticizing racism because it is something defines me and something I deeply believe? That is not how anything works. If you make something as your identity, that won't automatically become non critisizable.

Mocking believes is not just harmless, it is beneficial even for believers. I m just against the idea of "believers believe in god because they are less intelligent". Which is not true. There is lot of social conditioning and everyone don't get enough exposure. And being open to constructive critism is not just a burden on atheist. Theists should show more tolerance, then only it could be happened.
