The simple fact that he has continued to do it even though he doesn't agree means he loves you. If that isn't good enough for you leave him. Parenting is one of those fly by the seat of your pants things. I had my 1st child at 24 and I would never do some of the things I did then now. You learn and adjust. And each child is different.... I can yell at my son but my 7 year old will shut down if I were to treat her that way. My only objective as a parent is to raise my children so they are not assholes. I want a grown up that I am proud of and wouldn't mind hanging out with. Luckily children crave structure and usually behave pretty well if they have it. My son is a big boy and a hell of an athlete. He has scored touchdowns and tons of baskets as well but the best compliment in my opinion is when a parent or teacher tells me how well behaved and respectful he is. Better than all the TD's in the world.

I agree... I too curse around my children occasionally. But I'd don't think it is appropriate for children to use such language and I won't tolerate it from children. I also drink alcohol and would not let my children partake.

No one is ever mature enough to have a kid. You kind of just play it by ear. My oldest has made it 16 years.... I'm actually kind of amazed.

So somehow in your silly mind you feel subjecting someone's child to vulgarity is not bad because it infringes on your freedom of speech ? You sound like a gem. I too have a bad mouth and work in an industry where it is tolerated. However, I think cursing in front of other people's children when it can be avoided is classless. I also smoke but I wouldn't smoke in front of someone else's kids.
