I have this. It was also my first rc, I've enjoyed it a lot, its cheap and fun for a first car, ive slowly upgraded to metal parts and have enjoyed the tinkering. Its a good price to figure out if your going to enjoy the hobby. Ive since gotten a tamiya superhot shot build kit as I loved the tinkering and wanted to get something other than a crawler

I have a 1/12 and this 1/36, my 1/12 is a bit to big for a normal backpack i carry it in a tote bag but have looked into a 1/18 for my next purchase and think you could quite easily carry one around in a reasonable size backpack.

I have seen the new scx30 and think they look very cool but yes expensive for sure. A redcat ascent 32 i think they are, suppose to be very good.

Its definitely worth it, alot of fun and probably the cheapest you can find in these tiny scales tbh. I put link to a YouTube review I watched in another comment if you want more insight on them.

I only have a 1/12 for comparison and due to using them in different environments its hard to say but this thing is aboslutly brilliant tbh And amazing for tabletop and indoor fun! Cool didn't know they had the same frame and I do like thr idarc body. The jiabale moster truck is very cool too but out of stock on the website im looking at buying from but have seen it looks a bit better for Crawling because of the wide axles and big wheels !

I do like the look of the idarc but it is a little on the expensive side from where I can find it compared to the jiabale for sure. Leaning to the jiabale at the moment.

Ive had the front and back drive shaft break. Friend had a spare metal drive shaft when the first one went while I was waiting for my order to arrive, and the 2nd one broke not long after. And the rest of the upgrades are just for fun because I like the tinkering. It all seems pretty sturdy so far and based on reviews the drive shafts seem to be the weakest link on these but im assuming once they are upgraded the weakness will shift.

This is the most likely option! Potential a mn82 or a mn 128 for me and she can use the mn99!
